How important is parallax adjustment in a target rifle scope?

The hammer pin slides out of the holes it's supposed to rest in when I dry fire my ar; what should I do to fix it?

How much would a front BUIS on a free float rail be thrown off in terms of accuracy within 100 yards?

I'm asking because the upper assembly doesn't come with an A2 front and I already ordered a set of MBUS (figured it would weigh less too).

Resurrecting a question from a prior thread, but with a twist. I have a sporterized Arisaka that had the barrel set back and was chambered for .30-06. It's really accurate with handloads using .311" bullets and near maximum powder charges. The problem is we have a couple of standard '06 rifles around and an ammo mixup could make a kaboom. I can either ream the chamber to an improved version of the '06 (Ackley or Gibbs) to keep the loads for this rifle from chambering in an '06 or put in an insert and shoot 7.62x39. What do? Leaning towards the Gibbs for a different headstamp.

You might see up to about a 2 inch POI shift in any particular direction if you are pulling/pushing HARD on the handguard. Some but much less than that while normally resting the rifle.

Irons are certainly usable on free float, just really as more of a backup. Get an optic already.
