The British could have knocked Gallipoli out of the park had they not dicked around and committed ground forces from the beginning. Poor Winston.

America made Mosins for Russia.

Remington produced 30-06 M91s for the Russian Govt before US involvement. These M91s were later titled "U.S. Rifle, 7.62 mm, Model of 1916" and issued to the AEF

thoughts on the pedersen device?
>>32386950
It's a shame we never got to see it get pushed through.
>>32386950
ive never shot a rifle changed with the peterson device but i imagine it wouldnt be as good as a sub machine gun, the thing was only made because it was cheaper then making full sub machine guns. still pretty cool though.
My great grandfather was conscripted into the artillery as a gunner around 1916, as a catholic Irishman he wasn't too hyped for the whole war thing but neither was he a separatist as he had family in both Eire/England.
Spent the next two years firing shell after shell at German lines on the western front, and apparently came into some near misses with enemy shelling and advances. After the war he came back deaf only to be caught up in the war in Ireland.
As an Irishman that served during the war he was treated like shit by the Irish nationalists and felt he had to move the family to England for their own safety (ex-soldiers were being executed in their homes/farms at this point after 1919, it was basically all out civil war).
After he died at 80 or so his wife took control of the house and all his old photographs/souvenirs, she had dementia and eventually signed an agreement with a cold caller that they would get the rights to all her possessions on her death in return for pittance.
Long story short after she died we lost everything, all I have left from grandad is his service medals in a small chocolate tin. No army records, no photographs nothing.

Couldn't help but think of WW1 when the Russian ambassador was assassinated. The similarities are striking.

History repeats itself. If WW3 starts I wonder if there will be radioactive trench warfare.

>Couldn't help but think of WW1 when the Russian ambassador was assassinated. The similarities are striking.
No, they aren't. Stop looking for the same thing in multiple places as confirmation of an insufficiently formed perspective.
Start learning to understand what happens in ITS OWN POLITICAL CONTEXT. Your thinking is lazy AF.
Abmo isn't valuable. Moscow wants deals with Erdogan, and dead ambo is an excuse for mutual cooperation. Americans are emotional cunts. Putin is a pragmatist who is prosecuting the war in Syria with a military and diplomatic LONG GAME in view. Children are passionate. Adult military strategist care about winning.

>Carbines
>Grenades everywhere
look like stormtroops alright, also I do wonder why carbines weren't more of a thing
the engagement distances and trench fighting surely would have made them more useful
>>32387284
I don't remember which side of the family and when exactly but someone was a weapons engineer and got a street named after him here in Saxony-Anhalt.
Also, not WW1 but my great grandfather was wounded in the Battle of France and send to a lazarett where he apparently got sexually involved with all the local nurses. Don't know if that's just family talk but I thought it was funny.
