Yo negreos can you redpill me on this piece of shit? Is it worth 80 european dollaridoos'?
>>
Leatherman is top notch when it comes to multitools. I personally use a Gerber and it has never failed me, cost about 2/3 of a Leatherman. My parents had a Leatherman that I used when I was younger and I loved it, bought the Gerber because I could afford it as opposed to a Leatherman that I was going to buy. If you will use it I definitely recommend that you get it, you can't go wrong with a Leatherman. Totally worth it imo as I use most of the tools they have on a fairly regular basis. If you want ill link you the Gerber, but I don't want to shill if its unwanted.
>>
>>32385331
thanks mate
>>
>>32385285

I have that fucker. Usually keep it in my truck to deal with minor repairs or whatever.

Worth every penny. Come in handy and tool quality is high.

i have a side kick
cheaper and more handy
it also come with a spring load plier

wave don't have a spring load plier but it got more tool

the wave also got better QC than side kick

the knife on my side kick is quite stiff

knife on the wave is much smoother
>>
>>32385285
Have 2 Waves from military issue. Wear it on me all the time, and pull it out multiple times daily unless I'm being a lazy shit and doing nothing.
Totally worth getting for free. I'd even pay money for it.
>>
>>32385285
I've had one for almost 5 years now, I don't know how I would live without having external knives.
>>
I had one for a few years. Useful as fuck. It should still be in this very room, but I can't for the life of me find the fucking thing.
>>
>>32385285
no. get a swisstool spirit instead.
>>
>>32385285
Get a Rebar. Replaceable cutters should be a standard feature, imo.
>>
Got one for 15 bucks from offerup from some methheads. Never used but a few years old. Seems like a solid tool and is my car multitool now, great scissors.
>>
>>32385285
Yes, it's worth every socialist euro cent. I've had one for like 15 years an its been awesome held up amazingly well.
>>
>>32386292

Why? I read the reviews - only reason to get swisstool seems to be rust resistance. Everything else goes to Wave.

>>32386317

Why? If you cut that many wires, use a wire cutter.

>No one hand blade
Yeah they ruined it.
I like pic related but damn pliers are useful as fuck.
>>
I have a Wingman. I hated forgetting a screw driver or wrench at the shop while in the field at work. Bought a Wingman off Amazon for like 30-40 bucks to see if i would even use the thing... I dont leave my house without it now. Gonna upgrade it soon to a model with a bigger stiffer set of pliers
>>
>>32387549
>if you cut that many wires, use a wire cutter
Because pliers jaws are generally soft, and you cutting a wire of unknown composition one time can dent the cutter jaws badly enough to render the entire thing inoperable.

With replaceable cutters, there's nothing you CANT cut, and on the off chance they break (they're carbide, really really hard but brittle) you're out $8 instead of $80.

I have one but like my Signal better. The blade and saw are thicker.
>>
Buy it. Owned and loved mine for almost 6 years of daily use, lost it while up a pole hanging wire and I still miss it.
>>
I used a letherman Wingman for two years. Than moved up to the wave. I've had my wave for 3 years now. And use it almost every day.

I work aircraft maintenance, and sometimes it's handy to have a Philips screwdriver or pliers when on the flight line and away from the tools.

It's been good to me and continues to do so. Is 80 dollars worth 3+years of hard service? I think so.
>>
>>32390195
If it breaks they'll send you a new one. I've exchanged several Leathermans

As a new A and P my choice feels validated now
>>
I carried the blued version in the army.
Great piece of kit. Held a few other brands including Gerber, and Leatherman MUT (which broke) and none came close.
It also comes with a secret lanyard loop that slots in if not in use, good for some 550 cord.

Only issue mine had was a snapped mini screw bit, but that's replaceable.

9/10 get one.
Consider buying a 3rd party pouch if you don't like the stock one.
SORD make a good tactical nylon pouch available in khaki, multicam, and possibly other patterns.
>>
>>32385285
I say go with thr swiss spirit X, you wont be sorry. The fit and finish is noticeably better, it weighs less, and it's more ergonomically designed. Plus I'll take 3d drivers any day of the week. The interchangeable bits on the wave sound nice, but its just more pieces to carry around/loose.
>>
>>32390276
I had the wingman all through A&P school and moved to the wave after I got out. The wave is much better.
The only downside was the wave didn't have the pocket clip like the wingman did.
But most of the time it doesn't matter because I keep it in that small pocket in the right pocket of my jeans.

Leatherman are great. Anyone without a multitool in their EDC is a tool themselves. I went through about 3 or 4 then sprung for something better. Never used the Wave tho.
>>
Found my Leatherman wave while climbing in the rocky mountains, nobody in the area claimed to have lost it so I got mine for free.99, best multi tool I've used so far, want to buy one of their fancy pants tacticool black ones but expensive...

Either way, quality tool bro.
Do recommend.
>>
>>32385285
I use to wear a multitool back in the army. Uncle sam gave me a gerber, it was pretty nice. i would rate 7/10, some people had them break i did not in my 2 year or so of wearing. For christmas my parents got me a leatherman wave, and i started wearing it. I loved it so much more, its much more ergo and durable. I did break the blade on the leatherman while prying on (something) but it truely is a great peice of gear. 10/10 would recommend.
>>
>>32393049
Send it in, lifetime warranty, they will put new blade on and send back.

Having owned:

Signal
Sidekick
Wave
Charge TTI

Only the signal and sidekick I found useful enough to want to keep. Sidekick is the dirty beater at work (engineer) and the Signal is my field tool when hunting and when not at work.

Great tools, Anyone who complains about the play in the pliers of the sidekick has not used it hard. Yes there is play but has not gotten worse even after using them to twist thousands of chemical drum caps off using lots of open pliar twisting.
>>
>>32398891
What didn't you like on the tti and wave?
>>
>>32398966
Qc
For the price they were poor. Made me resent them. Blade play and the like. Poorly machined scales on the charge and rubbish blade grind.
>>
>>32387549
Not the guy who suggested the Swisstool, but I prefer it as well. You get pretty much the same tool selection but in a smaller and lighter package, and everything is accessible from the outside.

The only things you give up from the Wave are the ability to have both plain and serrated blades on the same tool and one handed opening, but in return you get an awl, an actual bottle opener, a nice beefy flathead/prybar, and tools that are just generally better in design and quality than the Leatherman ones.

Like the last anon said, Leatherman's QC has really gone down the hole lately too. I recently bought a new Wave to replace an older lost one, and the new one is a piece of shit in comparison.

I have pic related I love it. Crimping pounching holes cutting det cord or time fuse it does most of everything I could ask for from a demo perspective. I'm just upset that some boot broke my punch try to stab through an ammo can when I let him borrow it, and they're pretty costly

Punch is replaceable man. Besides, their warranty will cover morons

Literally can not comment on any other multitool but the SuperTool 200 is awesome.
>>
>>32392482
Ha I found mine on a stump in the first covered in moss. Cleaned it up and now it's the best tool I have ever owned. Finding Leatherman tools in the forest seems pretty common.

EDC one as well. My shitty Gerber multitool the Army gave me got confiscated at the airport, was on the way to an emergency funeral and forgot I had it in one of my suit pockets I had packed away. GF felt bad and bought me this, it's fantastic so far, and not a rusty piece of shit like the Gerber.
>>
>>32385285
How much is a swisstool in comparison?. How important is one handed opening to you? If you answer much higher and very, yes get the wave. Pretty much the last multitool you will need for daily life.
>>
>>32385285
Surge is better than the Wave.

These are the reviews for the bigest swiss army knife on amazon.
>>
>>32385285
It doesn't have a pocket clip if you're into that, isn't spring loaded and doesn't have replaceable wire cutters. Because of those things I got the Wingman, which is spring loaded and does have a pocket clip. Frankly I didn't use the full extent of the wave and if you routinely do need a full set of tools, carry a toolbox.

If you don't absolutely need the pliers for heavy duty stuff I'd go with a Victorinox Swiss army knife, for 80 eurobucks you can get one of the high-end ones like the Swisschamp, the pliers are a toy compared to LM but all the other tools are higher quality I find, QC in general on Victorinox is the best I've ever seen on any mechanism I've owned.

this

get a workchamp and you have a locking 3" knife blade, double bit saw, 3" metal file, 5 screwdrivers, scissors, can opener, etc.

swiss army knives can take beyond razor sharp edges like no ones business. I test mine by seeing if it will pop hair off my arm after cutting cardboard.
>>
I've got a wave, love it to death. I feel naked without it on me.

Used to have a Blast too but the locking mechanism broke on it, I think. Leatherman replaced it under warranty super quick with a Rebar since they discontinued the Blast.

Definitely would buy more Leathermans if I ever ended up needing another one.
>>
>>32403540

Also, depending on which Eurocuck country you're in some of them like the UK have laws against carrying locking knives, which puts Leatherman into a legal grey area when it's in your pocket in public. The non-locking SAKs are generally kosher.
>>
Leathermans rock, I've blown through a lot. Currently have a kick and sidekick. Gerber multi tools always shit the bed for me, the cast frames just crumple anytime the pliers get tested. If you're gonna use it every day, pony up for a swisstool. If there's a stronger, more durable multitool, I haven't seen it.

>>32401635
Damn I'd have lost that like 5 times over
>>
>>32403606
>>32403540
My qualms with SAKs are chiefly that theyre way easier to lose for some reason (pocket clip?) and every time I have one in my pocket I seem to be presented a task in which I need to cut wire or tighten nuts (shoulda bought pliers)
>>
>>32403675

They don't have a pocket clip but they do have a lanyard ring
>>
>>32403675
>put it around your neck
>stop being a bitch
there you go

the 1-3 bay modern victorinox knives with locking blades have pocket clips
>>
I just carry a skeletool.
