>If you wish to contribute to the project I could immediately use:

I really try to respond to all posters so it would be nice not to have to wait on the timer / reCAPTCHA. It's really a pain. I also can't cut the feed port in the receiver until I have a mag so that would help out a lot too. I would only be borrowing the mag ( < 6 months).

>Doing so would entitle you to a discount, and/or custom features when they are out of beta testing / cleared with legal.

Thanks guys, let's keep the dream alive!

Sorry to anyone who asked a question on the last thread without getting a response; feel free to ask again.

I spent all of the past 2 days working on this thing. I was so amped up from the level of response this project has gotten that I decided to move up the prototype build from 3 weeks from now to right this very moment.

I was in one hardware store for an hour, in another for 2; and spent the rest of my day speaking to a carpenter family member about the stock. It's been full speed ahead, and at this rate I can't imagine it will take very long until the first firing. Certainly not 3 months.

Currently waiting on Barrel (Min length + 0.5), custom buffer springs, and striker spring.

>>32383354

Nice /innawoods/ but I want you to remember what you just said: 500$. When I was 18 I would have loved to have an AR-15, but it was during the beggining of the Obongo gun scare so the cheapest one was literally 600 - 700$.

There is a market, my dude. That much is obvious. I've been getting investment offers from people to put it to you that way.

And you are also judging a book by it's cover; it will look good when it's done.

When did I say its illegal to make guns in the US? Read with your eyes, nigga.

It's not legal to make a full auto Sten, or anything else full auto. Likewise if you want to make anything that would be classified as an NFA item, you have to get it cuckstamped as you would a commercially produced NFA item.

If it was legal to make a full retard gun, don't you think you'd see them at every fucking range in the country?

I am, and have been for some time, well aware that you can legally manufacture your own firearms in the US as long as you don't make an NFA item or full retard gun.

Sorry.
Go hang out on weaponeer for a bit.

In the kit department you might want to look at the bolt together AR lower. I think sandwich style receivers have some potential not just for ARs too. Build it like a padlock layer by layer and slip into a square stock/ rectangle tubing body.

That and think how 12 gauge adapters slip into a 3/4 inch pipe, are solid steel, can come rifled, come in useful calibers and will ship to your door for +/- $30.

This reminds an oldfag of the TOFYJ project which got nowhere, or wheats k22 (for the newer oldfags) which at least left us some infographs.

The Sear is on a cam, which the firing pin catches because the top of it is a ramp. The cam is rotated down when the trigger is pulled, letting it fly, then returned to position 0.

The best part is I think the ATF tech branch will like it because if the pin fails to engage, the BCG will simply hammer follow, no harm no foul.

That's how it works in the People's Republic of California, actually. Or at least, Making a gun someone else designed (and brought to market) is legal, provided that the gun could be legally sold in the PRC, but making a gun of your own design is illegal, because they can and will call it a "zip gun" regardless of the level of sophistication.

Here, do some reading, friend.

https://www.pmddtc.state.gov/registration/wmr.html

If I did have to Register for ITAR, I would simply switch to a pre-order only until I had enough money to do it, and while I'm at it I would get a 01 & 07 FFL. Then I could make these and also make really fun versions for myself.

>"Why do you think you can do this for $100? "

Why do you think I can't?

>"What materials are you planning on using "

Metal, wood, fiberglass and epoxy.

> "how do you know they are safe and will work?"

It's called testing, and if you read the fucking OP I even talked about it.

The amazing thing is people who say I can't do this are usually the people who ask questions that were answered in the OP, or somewhere in the thread. Funny how that works.

I don't post with a VPN because there is nothing shady going on here. I'm sure there are LEO in this thread and that is 100% fine with me. I have nothing to hide. What are you talking about, morality?

Nah man, I was agreeing with you. Looks like you know the law pretty well so I'm not worried. In terms of "morality", some people have issues with building weapons but idgaf as I literally will be building missiles and rockets for a living.

As to my CAD stuff, I do own copies of Inventor, SketchUp (got that one from stepdad, it's shit) and FEA. I do not own a copy of Solidworks and use the university computers for that. Dunno if you give a shit, some people do; my last internship used exclusively Solidworks and bitched at me for using inventor.

And as to "they don't need to know about it", my last few employers, who are government contracted mind you, vetted the FUCK out of me before I got my internships. Northrop actually scoured my Facebook page and asked me about certain posts I made; my page is private. I didn't take their offer after that. So in short, if I do something of dubious legality, these people will know about it. Again, I don't really care as I like the idea of arming the masses, but I am trying to keep myself squeaky clean because I'd like to get Dat engineering salary in the future.

>>
>>32392985

It will depend on whether or not I need this is "ITAR" faggotry license / Tax.

Because If I do, then it will only be preorder until I can afford the $2000 license.

And If that is the case, it's only an extra 300$ for an 07 FFL, so I will be doing that.

And if THAT is the case, then these will not be sold as kits, they will be sold as complete rifles.

AND IF THAT IS THE CASE, I will see if it's legal for me to like....be a traveling meme gun salesman or something hilarious like that.

So yeah, it all hinges on this ITAR shit, but most likely yes regardless.

First come first serve.

You would probably be surprised the amount of people that have asked to pre-order, even though the prototype hasn't been built lmaooo

Obviously I can't accept for legal reasons but still.

I appreciate the input, but that is kind of a different thing because he says it's a competition rifle, which is designed to be as light as possible. He also says that he had to use a high buffer rate so that the bolt wouldn't beat the shit out of the receiver.
