>The Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 9mm Semiautomatic Pistol features an M&P M2.0 trigger and includes both a control-enhancing grip texture and 4 interchangeable palm swell grip inserts. This striker-fired pistol also includes a corrosion-resistant Armornite finish and boasts a steel-white dot front sight and steel-white 2-dot rear sight.
Hopefully they've improved the trigger this time around. The VP9, Sig P320 and CZ P10 all have excellent triggers for striker fired handguns. S&W needs to improve if they want to compete with those and of course, the Glock

Old M&P for comparison
>>
>>32361995
So they've basically stippled the grip, added a couple new serrations on the slide and possibly fixed the trigger.

For the record, post shield m&ps actually have good triggers, especially compared to the original run of m&ps
>>
Hmm, interesting that they have cut the beavertail off.
>>
>>32362000
Wonder what the extra little bit on the slide lock is? With an apex flatly my m&p shoots better than any glock I have handled factory or aftermarket.
>>
I fingerfucked an M&P Pro the other day and the trigger honestly felt great.

What exactly is wrong with them?
I'm thinking I might pick one up as my first handgun.
>>
The slide lock looks way different. Does it work more like a slide release?

Nothing.

If you like it and can buy it, do it.

Or buy a glock, or a 1911, or a CZ, HK, FN, HiPoint, a fucking calico, buy whatever the fuck you like because you're an adult and fuck what anyone else thinks.
>>
>>32362146
The first run of m&p's had really bad triggers. They were inconsistent, heavy, gritty, mushy, and had no reset. When the shield was released there was an update to the trigger bar and some other bits that really brought the trigger up to standards.

As always the bad trigger meme haunts them to this day.
>>
>>32362885
They are all very similar to each other, pretty much anything you look at will be available in multiple calibers, be doublestack, and be in a similar price ranges. Not giving a shit about what the trigger in your gun feels like doesn't make you superior anon. Go faggot somewhere else.

The Pro triggers were fine after break-in. It's just Glock babies with Apex triggers that bitch about everything, because Glock's factory triggers aren't anything to brag about.

They might have reinforced the frame more because .357SIG was enough to crack them in 1000 rounds. The biggest changes I'm seeing are the removal of the beaver tail, front slide serrations, and a much larger slide lock/release. If they added an actual release that you can operate with your thumb it's already a huge improvement.

I believe it is a detent for positive slide stop retention.
Stops the shooter from engaging the slide stop during recoil halfway through the magazine.

Looks like they are using the same trigger face, but removed the over travel block on the bottom of the trigger guard so it's probably just the H trigger bar from the last revision, the beavertail from the 9c, and some stippling...... Hopefully I can still get fucking parts for my "original" M&Ps...

>>
>>32366061
The fuck is wrong with the keyboard, also the mouse was fucking $3.
>>
>>32364071

Glocks have always had consistent triggers, were NOT heavy, and had a definite reset. M&p's still have shit triggers to this day and it's fucking unacceptable with the p320, vp9, ppq available now and more strikers with supposedly good triggers on the way (cz p10).

But besides the trigger the accuracy of early M&p's were well documented and attributed to the slide barrel lock up.

I love my glock but a kid I know accidentally shot and killed his GF, and i'm 99% sure it was because he had a glock.

More generally, the situation is possible whenever you have a gun that requires a trigger pull to disassemble.

He was drunk and sitting behind his gf in a moving car on NYE. He went to unload and disassemble the gun. Removed the mag, didn't chamber check, pulled the trigger to begin the process, bullet passed through her back and she bled to death within a few minutes. 20 years old and beautiful.

Not glock's fault, for sure. But had he been using some other striker gun, it probably wouldn't have happened.

Or at least have enough sense to leave your fucking guns alone when you're drinking.

The kid had just turned 21 and had very little experience with guns. So that made things even more dangerous of course.

>99% sure it was because he had a glock
>Not glock's fault, for sure

>>
>>32367010

You know what I mean, man.

It's not glock's responsibility or their problem. He was stupid and wholly responsible for what happened. I'm just saying that in the retarded situation he put himself and his gf into, that feature of the glock was the final piece needed to complete a very big mistake.

> He can't handle an 8lb trigger once
> He can't into LEM or DAK
> He can snag in the trigger guard putting bullet into something besides the target
> He can't understand the Glock trigger safety is really more of a safety for inertia instead of the actual trigger

laughingwhores.jpg
>>
Isn't this the same pistol that got knocked out of the running early on in the MHS competition? Seems like a good reason not to buy it, especially since there's no lack of inexpensive polymer striker-fired 9s out there these days.
>>
>>32363780
I have an m&p9 and have no issues working the slide release with my thumb. Lift more fag
>>
>>32367182
1911 owners think there's no way they can ND because they have a manual safety
This is obviously not the case
>>
I had an early M&P9, so it was a problem child.

Pros:
-Excellent ergonomics
-Good accuracy out to 10 yards
-Slide finish really good in 100 degree weather in IWB 18 hours a day
- Grip Panels are nice
- Great factory sights
- Great slide serrations
- Probably 2nd easiest gun to work on right behind Glock
- Reliable as fuck
- Option of 1911-like manual safety (mine was too early)

CONS
- Was inaccurate as fuck past 10 yards. Verified with different shooters and rested No better than 7" groups
- Barrel crown as jagged, and would show leading very easy.
- Slide stops are tight as fuck newand rust easy.
- The trigger sucked in all ways. Mushy and no reset with grit. Plus the actual trigger design is garbage. The aggressive curve in addition to it being a top/bottom pivot fucks it up

Sold it off before Apex pretty much fixed the M&P line. Kinda optimistic about the 2.0 though because S&W really fixed the M&P issues in the Shield.

I think I was taken in by the S&W history, the allure of the m&p9. It's a sexy gun (gen. 1). Thank God I have done no more than replace the sights w/XS Std. Dot (front sight tritium only). I'm finding the trigger IS mushy and w/new sights now seems to shoot way low. But maybe I'm screwing up and pushing the gun in anticipation of the (negligible) recoil? Did I screw up by buying M&P? I got the thumb safety model b/c I NDed a Glock. Would it be smart to have internals worked over by knowledgable gunsmith, or just sell the thing? I will read your replies in the morning. PS I would like to give Glock a second chance ... Maybe I'll just go review Recommended Guns of /k/ infographic and shut up!
