Say you had a small group of about 50 guys, some trained, some not, some have their own guns, some don't, and each brought about $10,000 each, giving a total of around half a million to fund the effort.

How would you spend that money to make an invasion of a small pacific island a success?

Assume you would need to buy guns ammo and gear for a large number of your force.
>>
Isn`t that pacific island Tuvalu by any chance?
>>
>>32349664
Pay a some mercenaries to do it for me.
>>
>>32349704
I guess. I didn't really care about that meme thing, but it got me interested in the idea of invading an island, thought it could make a fun thread.
>>
>>32349752
Don`t do it anon, you see pic? that`s what remains from the last invasion, the natives are not only fierce, they are cannibals.
You will end up in their pot.
>>
>>32349828
Are those Jap tanks?
>>
>>32349837
No,
German
>>
Half a million will get you basically nowhere.

Do you think a ship from 1943 is going to sail around the planet with no issues?
>>
>>32349989
Just build a sail. Your a idiot.
>>
>>32349989
For a one way trip it can't be that bad.
>>
>>32349989
Okay then, only buy one car. Have $50k extra for fuel or whatever exorbitant amount of money you think it's going to take.

More likely than not the armored cars are going to be less than $50k by a few thousand, that's a maximal estimate on an Alvis Saladin.

If you think food is going to be an issue when you have a budget of $3k per soldier you are shit at managing resources.

A car indeed. Buy surpus CUCVs and go anywhere!

CUCVs don't have 120mm cannons and up to 32mm of armor
>>
>>32350039
>More likely than not the armored cars are going to be less than $50k by a few thousand
Until you take into account ammunition, then it'll be over $50k by a few thousand.

If you think $3k is a lot for equipment for a soldier, you're pretty delusional too.

For what purpose?

They really like hurricanes.

From when/where?

Not in the slightest, except maybe to make thermite.

>>32350775
Maybe the Germans sold/gave some to the Japanese?

The German Empire did have colonies in the Pacific, but they were taken during World War 1, so I'm guessing it's not from then.

Thinking pacific islands need armour.
1988. Fijian coup happens
Straya 1RAR BG loads up to go sort - Op MorrisDance
Bn requests full opload ammo including Milan ATGW
>reply FDF largest vehicle is 10t unarmoured trucks, how many Milan will you need?
2004 Straya and others go to Solomons to sort out - OpAnode
1 mythical killdozer - total AT load 4 x M72A6 - none fired

/k/unts think they need Armoured Cars...

It's got 191,000 gallons total fuel capacity and a 13,700nm range.

You do the math.
>>
>>32351110
With 5242nm distance between the dock in Washington and Tuvalu, and 13.42gal per nm at MAX efficiency, that's just over 73,000 gallons of diesel.

At the west coast average price of $2.77 per gallon, that's $203K bare minimum if you go as efficiently as possible with no adverse weather or unforeseen route changes.

This doesn't include fuel consumption from the three generators on board.
>>
>>32351165
So realistically the one-way voyage would cost more in fuel than the boat itself cost.

500k is too little.

For the Tuvalu thing I've did some basic assessments and to take over the Vaitupu island effectively you need around 180 people(including guys like cooks, doctors and other non-combatants) and assuming they'll be non-profit volunteers $4M is the least you can spend. Interestingly enough - food, ammo, water and weapons only form like 300k out of these costs. Probably ~$10M with mercenaries.

I'm seriously surprised why there aren't any bored billionaires playing around conquering those islands.

Stop trying to invade Tuvalu. They're a part of the Commonwealth and straya and the kiwis will come rekk your shit, even though it's a moneypit for them.
>>
How about you all just immigrate to the Commonwealth of PR since all you need is a domestic flight, invest in out lands and companies, get tax breaks for being rich, change our demographics and give a boost to our pro gun culture and bring an end to the Czech tier firearm laws so we can be back to glorious federal minimum
>>
you'd be better off using that half million to bribe island officials with so you can easily start a coup and install yourself.

what the fuck are you going to do with 50 men?

you'd probably be successful but depending on the Island you're going to get your shit pushed in by the United States, France, or Australia within a few days depending on which Island you took over.
