Is the MAS-36 any good?
>>32347218
oui
>>32347218
No safety
Unadjustable sights
Shitty build quality
But they'd generally go bang when you pulled the trigger.
An abysmal trigger, other than that it's fine.

It's good for what it was designed to be.
It's not a marksman's rifle.
The MAS-36 was designed to be used in primarily short ranged engagements. The bolt is made to be cycled quickly, the barrel is short, the stock is sturdy and it has one MEAN fucking bayonet. It was basically intended to be a spear that shot rifle rounds.
The concept the rifle was made for is, itself, obsolete in modern warfare, though I certainly wouldn't want to fight someone who is defending their home with one, for instance.

Build quality is decent. What are you talking about?
>>32347218
It's probably the simplest and most durable milsurp bolt action rifle available.
It's fairly accurate, but its effective accuracy is heavily hindered by the fact that it has the shittiest iron sights in the history of firearms.
Also, most of them don't have safeties.
It's imho the best gun to sporterize, despite the fact that noone does it.
Definitely, They're all in mint condition.
Never fired and only dropped once.

Is it a good buy for 300 dollars? There's one at my local Gander Mountain that I'm eying
>>32347337
The ammo is going to be a PITA to get. If it's rechambered for something else, I'd look into the quality of the work done by whoever did it before buying.
According to my 2016 edition of the blue book, it says...
100% = $375
98% = $300
95% = $225
90% = $200
80% = $150
70% = $125
60% = $100

>>32347218
Yes, I can hit a steal target at 200 yards with that mother fucker.
>>32347426
That price diff from 95 - 100% lol are they talking non-refurbs?
Mines a refurb and worth at least $300
>>32347523
No, it's just the cost of an absolutely pristine rifle. Remember: These things went through an absolute HELL of a war.

My Dad has one. He say's its' Sturdy, Decent Shooter, Built like a Tank, he likes it
He traded his Arisaka in a week

>On a bolt action rifle
Pretty much unnecessary.

>Unadjustable sights
Easily my least favorite part. I kind of want to try to 3D print my own adjustable rear sight so I can at least control the windage without playing the rear sight lottery for $25/ticket.
