People born during the destabilization of Iran are just now having their own children. Said children are generally too young to even be politically aware, much less have their own opinions or be able to act on them.

So if you count the people who were adults during the stabilization *and* their children (who are now late 20's early 30's), a massive *2* generations. Big fucking deal. There are more generations of Americans still pissed at Bush Sr. (a single-term president) than there are generations of Iranians pissed at the US.

The fall of the shah happened in 1979, 37 years ago. Not only have people born during the Iranian revolution already started having children, but some of them will probably be grandparents soon. This isn't white Seattle where people are waiting until they are 40 years old to have kids. They're getting married and shitting out offspring at 17, 18, 19 years old.

You're right in that none of them are probably politically aware, but I absolutely guarantee that they all have plenty of opinions on the United States and our history of interference in the Middle East.

The United States was deeply involved in installing Reza Shah into power, and when Khomeini starting rustling feathers there was ZERO public support from the US of any kind. In the mind of many Iranians, both ones who were in their adult or elderly years at the time as well as those who were young at the time perceive the US as having effectively abandoned the Shah, allowed France to shelter Khomeini during his exile, and did nothing to prevent his return and the beginnings of the revolution.

During the early parts of it lots of Iranians were sitting back waiting for international support, government pressure, and military intervention which never came to stunt the revolution before it really got started. By the time anyone realize it wasn't going to happen, it was too late and their family members were already being executed in the streets after sham trials by islamic committee.

If you don't think those kinds of attitude and experiences persist from one generation to another you're a fucking retard.

Nobody is talking about Bush Sr. in America, except maybe in whatever kind of backwater you live in. If you don't think people are still talking about the US's ultimate failing in the Middle East you're mistaken.
