I usually wear a huge beat-up tan duster. It looks like what a PI would wear in the movies, only it's been my constant companion through 4 continents, maybe 2 dozen countries, and a whole lot of crazy shit. So it has lots of small mended cuts, burns and so on.
The upside is, it started as soft leather/suede, but ever since the south american jungle, it's been pretty tough leather, so that's nice.

But I've strayed from my point, which is that if it's a rough as hell looking leather duster, nobody gives a shit, because you don't look like a spergy Columbine reenactor.
