Even with a stockpile, it's a terrible plan.

It's viable if you have an assload of rounds and a suppressor.

223 is better at everything except for the gimmick of cycling subsonics, which imo loses its cool factor after a single mag dump and can be done less expensively with pistol cal uppers anyway

Low availability disqualifies it as a SHTF round. Best ones are ones you can easily steal/loot/rob or buy and stockpile before SHTF. Basically, best SHTF round is region specific.

Not until it becomes more available.

.300BLK imo is THE round for anything subsonic, anything SBR, and any type of urban combat, which can make it great, but in reality it's just not popular enough to really be worth it.

I mean if you're rich enough to have a stockpile and two weapons, one in .300 and one in 5.56, knock yourself out.
