Adlerfags/ausfags/shotgunfags - considering buying pic related. They also do an all-weather version with rifle sights. Any compelling reason I would want these? I can replace the bead on this one with a fibre optic, or just run a red dot if I want to "sight" things.

Also, Friday night ausfag general.

Here's the all weather, nickel plated with rifle sights. Front is fibre optic. Also what's the advantage of the rib in OP pic? Can't imagine "accuracy" in an el cheapo like this

I've heard there's better alternatives to the Adler.

Agree - from what I can gather, it's uzkon>adler>pardus, but honestly I want the meme gun - on principle. Fuck the greens and CGA. Also I like the testing that Nioa has done, and the sheer numbers in country (parts etc).

Uzkon is number 1. Probably 1500 rounds through since I got it. No mechanical issues at all
>>
Ausfag here
Doing cat a/b safety course this Sunday, applying for license ASAP.
Going to get a .223 Howa 1500 from the look of things, but was tempted to get the A110 too. At the end of the day, I can't afford both, so I'd rather the one that I can actually use at the range and not look like a tard.
>>
>>32342531
Think I read your review on fou... I'm committed to the Adler "just because"; don't really have a reason for it (cat a so don't need one either), just the principle. Will use it of course. What's the uzkon range like? And price? Would cost me more as it would be plus freight & transfer. Can pickup adler from store with on site PTA. .. would you consider the convenience enough to push the adler over the line?
>>
>>32342548
I did my Cat A/B course just last night.
>>
>>32342508
Nah just the 7 shot facing the chop, but nothing is law yet.

>>32342548
Welcome aboard. Which state?
>>
>>32342558
Nice, I'm ex-defense so I'm considering taking my F88,F89, and Mag-58 qualification papers with me for RPL to skip the live fire part. Was the live fire half any fun?

>>32342560
QLD my friend. Probably going to do some shoots out in Belmont
>>
>>32342552
Yeah that review was mine. I think from what I have heard the uzkon is pretty hard to find at the moment until the new shipment comes in next year. The uzkon set me back $940, so you would probably be looking at around 1k once all your shipping and what not has gone on top of that. I'm not really sure on the range, haven't really stretched it out yet. For convenience sake the Adler in your case trumps the uzkon. Also the Adler triggers the anti's more.
>>
>>32342590
The live fire part was only like fifteen minutes, couple shots on a .22 rifle, then done.

There was only 16 people in my course between three guns. I imagine it might've been a bit more boring if there were more people or less instructors, a lot more standing and waiting.
>>
>>32342597
I'll probably just do it then. Sounds like it isn't too big an issue.

What're you looking at buying for your first firearm (if you don't already have one)?
>>
>>32342591
Yes - >triggered
is definitely my goal.

Meant range as in models - synthetic, all weather etc. For over 1k adler wins at 875. Will look into the uzcons though as it isn't a done deal
>>
>>32342602
Probably just a .22 bolt for the first one to practice on, but I'd also like to get a .44 lever and .308 bolt.

Probably get .223 too, not sure if before or after .308.
>>
>>32342615
I figured I only have money to get one rifle, so a .223 bolt action will be
>cheap enough to get a lot of practice on ($0.70/round), also widely available
>good for ranges out to 1000 yards by some people's standard
>good for hunting foxes, rabbits, feral birds, and possibly pigs

.308 is also possible, but pretty expensive compared to .223.
6.5x55 was another option, but again, pretty expensive per shot.
>>
>>32342624
Well, I will probably get into reloading pretty quickly. I'm interested in the technical aspects of firearms, so reloading really interests me.

Not that interested in hunting, but it's a convenient way to get the po-po off your back, and it's a good excuse to go camping.
>>
>>32342609
At the moment the uzkon only has the timber stock
>>
>>32342624
Are you in melbourne? 50c for 55gr fmj .223 at melbourne gun works. It's the must buy of December 2016

I plan on shooting at least every other month, but I'd love to shoot twice a month.
Only issue is storing the rifle at a (licensed) mate's house because I live in an apartment and can't install a safe here.
I've heard some loaders will let you give them brass, and they give you back rounds in return (e.g. 100 brass = 30 rounds).

>>32342644
Brisbane.
If I found cheap ammo, I'd probably buy about 500 rounds at once and just chew through it over time.
This is the current budget I am hoping for, pic related. I'm a buy nice or buy twice kinda guy.

>>32342660

Because, honestly, the Adler looks pretty damn good with the shorter barrel. I'm still hesitant about buying Turkish guns, but the design is still very alluring...
>>
>>32342656
Yeesh, the safe is the next thing I need to get onto. I rent a townhouse, got a shed I can put it in. There's a nice little spot where I think an old hot water heater used to be, but the new one is now outside.

I still need to ask permission for the anchor bolts, if they say no, then getting the 150kg safe is no issue for me, but I think they should be alright with it.
>>
>>32342678
My advice is avoid the term "gun", and downplay it as much as possible.
A 3 gun safe can be secured with 2 bolts btw.
Say you'll cover all costs, and fill the holes with liquid nails or similar when you vacate the property.
Say you'll have a licensed tradesman install it.
Etc., etc...
>>
>>32342687
Yeah, I was gonna try to avoid the word 'safe' as well for good measure. Maybe like 'secure cabinet' or something.
>>
>>32342660
Much better action. Bit better build quality
>>
>>32342643
Cheers - that settles it then. Agree the action definitely looks better, but I need synthetic 20" :D
>>
>>32342762
Yeah I want one of those as well
>>
>>32342656
You can shave off a few dollars maybe by avoiding SSAA? There are cheaper options (at least in vic) - maybe someone could even write you a letter? That's free.
>>
>>32342769
SSAA will pay itself off with cheaper range entry.
It's not a big deal, money isn't super tight, but I can only afford one rifle

Was watching the news just now, something something Aleppo something Red Crescent, light-bulb went off and decided to make this.

These guys seem to prefer the Pardus over the Adler.

Though looking at the way the lever interacts with the bolt on the Uzkon, it certainly looks much better than either of the others.
>>
>>32343197
Too many problem. Between them and acme firearms experience with the pardus (plus comments), I really feel it's a two horse race between the adler action and the uzcon action. I suspect the competition were rushed to market somewhat following the obvious opportunity for fast sales to Australia. The adler was more calculated and planned (and tested).
