It's not just guns though, plastic/polymer makes anything look more cheap. Wood/metal are more, "natural" components that make furniture, guns, art, etc look better. I don't mind plastic, it's unavoidable most of the time, but when you start making the whole bottom out of it I get a little put off. Take away the metal and the hammer and you can't wonder why people dislike it.

Plastic has a different set of characteristics that can be highly desireable in many firearms components, especially for making frames out of, even ask SIG.

Saying that something 'is the only way to go' is full 'stop liking what I dont like'. Does SIG make a fine pistol? Absolutely. The dirty secret is that all modern pistols are going to be accurate and reliable. I like Glock for the aftermarket. My girl likes SIG because the rainbow/oilslick slides and rosewood grips.

I think they're a great choice for a pocket or IWB gun. There are a shit load of awesome choices in that area of the market, but why not get the glock for reliability. I hear the 42 is picky with ammo though, so maybe just stick to the 9mm.

I'm a sucker for small glocks, though. Eventually I want to have them all, even the weird ones like the 27 and 33. I like the way they shoot vs. their larger versions. More fun than the relatively austere 17 and 19 for sure. And a lot more concealable.

I got it because I wanted something light that my GF can use and it's one of the handguns in California that doesn't have that weird chambered bullet fin thing or whatever the fuck that is. The ALG brand mount itself, while a good mount, is like $150. Then the optic will probably run anywhere from $100 - $300 (if it's a good brand). I got it for $524 brand new (gen3) from bud's. I think they wanted $575 but I asked them to price match some random website (hk specialist?) that had out of stock used models for $500, and bud's instantly dropped down to their bottom dollar.

I thought it was a good price for new in box. A gen4 is gonna be more obviously. + those come with 3 mags.

Gun is stupid fun. Especially with big boy ammo. It's challenging to shoot accurately, makes me feel like a better shooter every time I take it out.
