You have multiple things circled in your picture. The platform that pushes bullets up is called a follower. The parts on the side that curve inward are called feed lips. There isn't a name for the space in between the feed lips because it's just space.

Does anybody know a good way to loosen pistol clips? I just got my first handgun and the clips that came with it get really tight on the last couple bullets to the point that I can't get them in without using some sort of blunt object to hammer/force them in, but I've smashed my fingers a couple times while doing that.
