Is the VP9 worth the ~$100 or so over a Glock 17/19?

>>
>>32310054
They both do the same job well, You definitely get the extra 100 out of it with the Vp9. The trigger and ergos are far better than my Stock G19
>>
>>32310054
Hmm? Last I check VP9's have been selling for around the same as Glocks. On black friday, they went all the way down to $450 on some sites.
>>
>>32310065
On the same note though, if i didn't have either id buy the G19. Way more aftermarket, sights, Mags, holsters exc..

>>
>>32310205
I'm a self admitted HK fanboy and even I agree the VP9 was retarded.
>>
>>32310228
It might have reliability issues, but it has a really neat trigger and it looks great. If it wasn't from tap water making it jam, I'd rather take a VP9 over a PPQ or Glock 40 Problemsolwah.
>>
>>32310054
>Vp9
I wouldn't buy that dumb meme gun even if it were $300 less.
>>
>>32310384
exactly, but half of the point of a striker fired system is the resilience to elements and the idea of it being a relatively "sealed" system.

also, the fact that the p30 and USP have been proven ridiculously reliable, and the vp9 will jam in a light rain. For the same price as the VP9 you can just buy a P30SK and use VP9 mags

>Torture Test
>>
>>32310550
Is it really a torture test when the gun stops working when dunked in water? Is that the equivalent of waterboarding for firearms? Doesn't the Geneva Convention applies to guns? Would the VP9 also jam if a woman would squirt over it? Would Mexican food and beer diarrhea make it jam?
>>
>>32310054
I'd say Glock because it has more aftermarket support, so that $100 can turn into a drum magazine or something

Let's see what we got. VP9s. These here are the top of the line. Scientifically engineered and all that crap. Guaranteed by some Sierra Club asshole not to hurt a chipmunk IF it falls on it! Personally, I think they're for pussies and [turns his head towards two HK fanboys frequenting his store] FAGGOTS! Now THESE are Glocks. Cost you half as much, last you twice as long, and are great for pistol-whipping [turns his head towards the two again] QUEERS! 'Course when you're done you have to clean out the waffle with a stick, but what the hell, you can't have everything, right? Am I right or wrong?
>>
>>32310602
Think about it.
>>
>>32310683
You and me, we are the same. I'm your friend.
>>
>>32310054
If you're buying a new glock, buy the VP9 instead. Worth it in every way.

If you're buying a used LEO trade in glock for 350 though, I think the two are comparable enough that the savings justifies the glock over the VP9.

I like Glock fine. They just priced themselves too high for what they are.

I really love my 19 and my VP9 so its hard to say and its tough for me to not shill HK over Glock because im a major faggot for their products. I own them both and can only say that the VP9 ergos are definitely better and the only way for you to best pick would be to handle both of them and determine if the VP9 feel is worth the extra hunna.. but honestly you should check out the P30sk while youre at it.

>>32310514
glad someone else is saying it. P30sk is not talked about that much but its actually a great pistol. I bought mine before they came with mags that had finger extensions and once i bought an extended baseplate off of hkparts i saw the light

Interesting base plate on yours. I got a pinky extender for mine. Fits the hand very nicely.
>>
>>32312754
Also, did you throw on shortened slide releases? How are they?
>>
>>32310205
OHBOYHEREWEGO.jpg

Regardless, ergonomics and accuracy are excellent on the VP9. Never had a reliability problem either, but I don't go swimming with my handguns.
>>
>>32310054
All they really need to do with the VP9 is get a good aftermarket optic mount or install a slide mount for optics.

Handgun optics are going to be the future, I'm telling ya, and if you want to resell your gun down the line there's no better way to put your gun above the rest.
>>
>>32310054
It's better than the glock in the same way a ferrari is better than a ford focus

yeah you'd think it's better, but is it better for you?
>>
They both pretty much do the same thing. I'd say a Glock 19 with a trigger and sight upgrade brings it about on par, including in terms of price. One is made for the lowest common denominator of gun owners, the other is something for the poorfags who still want access to Muh H&K novelty. Really nothing more to it than that.
>>
>>32313099
yeah i absolutely love it, i bought the piece from hkparts and slid it right on the mag. as someone who is too dumb to change the base on the glock mags it was a breath of fresh air

>>32313135
nah i didnt this is just how it came. i got mine like the week they came out so maybe they changed it
>>
>>32310065
>>32310384
A PPQ has a better trigger than the VP9, costs slightly less, and performs more reliably in harsh conditions. The only thing you lose out on compared to the VP9 is the gun being made by Walther rather than HK.
>>
>>32313517
What's wrong with Walther?
>>
>>32316516

Not the guy you replied to but nothing's wrong with Walther except they need to market more and have a more established presence in the U.S. market. While there is no realistic way of Walther having the presence of a Glock or Sig Sauer here in the U.S. I would love to have spare parts availability as easily as the CZ's or HK's. Plus I want to see the company do well in civilian, LEO, and military markets.
>>
>>32316580
I just watched some of their youtube videos and I now see what you are saying about marketing. Dammit, I can't shrill the PPQ by myself.
>>
>>32317672
>>32316580
>>32313517
The PPQ is a big gun though. The VP9 is almost as big but more streamlined, and the G19 is smaller in every dimension as well as more streamlined. If you're ever going to CC any of them, the size alone gives the Glock the advantage.

(not to mention there's billions of holsters for the Glock)

Who would buy a VP9 when you can get the master race Walther PPQ?
>>
>>32319372
Thats fair, however, I would say the VP9 is more glock 17 in size yet only holds 15 rounds whereas the PPQ is more glock 19 in size. That being said, the glock 19 is still smaller. But if I wasn't going to cc it, the PPQ would be my choice.

I've put thousands of rounds through Glocks of all available calibers. I CCW each and every day. I do paramilitary work and open carry on the clock. I fell in love with a p320 compact last year. I've never looked back. Apex flatty trigger, Surefire XC1, and Trijicon HD red dot night sights will do you oh so right.

>exactly, but half of the point of a striker fired system is the resilience to elements and the idea of it being a relatively "sealed" system.
Someone lied to you, or you read some bullshit on the net somewhere. No gun is sealed or impervious to the elements. Some guns SOMETIMES do it better. That is it.

>because I do not have the time or inclination to fuck with a trigger safety, my dude
>>
I have both. The VP9 is more accurate when shooting slowly. The G19 is more accurate when being shot quickly. I assume it's due to the extra bore height of the VP9 causing a bit more muzzle flip.

The ergos of the VP9 are nuts. I did a trigger guard relief cut on my G19 which improved the feel a LOT. Both guns have rubberized Talon grips, which improve the control of both.
