Verdun pro-tip, it isn't "historically accurate" either, just shut the fuck up and have fun. It's also cheap as shit so if you can afford a computer you can play. Follow NCO and don't let him die, he is your spawn. Turn on manual bolting, working the bolt interrupts melee and you want those sweet bayo kills. It helps with sniping too, but snipers are cowards and if I see you with a scope I will run the fuck over no-mans land and climb inside you.

The Germans are another story, but it doesn't really bother me since it's just a character model and not SJW storyline bullshit crammed down our throats or anything.

I tend to wonder if they're planning on having an Africa/colonial DLC after those, and that's why they made one of the Germans black, too. Afaik there are 3 whole DLCs that we know nothing about at the moment, and a colonial one makes a lot of sense, given that DICE wants to showcase less famous parts of the war and that the colonial conflicts will be the biggest part of WWI missing after France and Russia get added.

I will never understand why people get so salty over the presence of black character models. If it was wrapped up in SJW plot and lore it would piss me off, but as it is I can't see it as any more than a themed shooter with character model variety to avoid visual monotony. The game makes literally no issue of race, and it's not like we expected a methodical historical reproduction, as much as I would love something like that. I'd also love an ultra-realistic 17th/18th century team based naval combat FPS with actual canon loading, sail management, flooding, bilge, etc, but I'm pretty confident that won't happen unless I make it, and the fact that Assassin's Creed IV wasn't that didn't end my goddamn world.
