Nice. I'm in the middle of a war of vengeance. We've got a few of these fuckers on my property. They already killed my cat. Last night they came danger close to my chickens and I wounded one as they ran off. I almost felt bad but then I remembered my cat.

3 years ago I shot one 3 times, I went over there with a 2x4 to finish him off, he still had enough energy too lunge army face which I put my hand infront and it bite throughly glove. They're pretty much everywhere in North America now except for the arctic circle. Hundreds of years ago, before America was really settled, they were confined to the prairies and deserts of the west. However, as people began to settle the area, they killed the wolves which kept the coyotes under control. With no wolves around, the coyotes expanded to pretty much everywhere uncontested. Theres been quite a few attacks over the past few decades. Most of them are out west, though. They're opportunistic. They usually won't fuck around with adults much, but I'd worry about a child playing in the yard unsupervised if I knew there were problem coyotes in the area.

Especially when they do this before deer and other game animals produce offspring, reducing the amount of them lost to peice of shit coyotes killing them as soon as theyre born, its the most important reason to kill them in the first place.

I'm not the yuppie you're implying I am. I hunt coyotes too. I'm talking over the course of decades, not seasons. If I go outside right now and plug a dozen coyotes, of course there will be a dozen less coyotes tomorrow. However, by the time the coyotes that didn't get killed reproduce in the spring and the coyotes from the county over start moving out of their parents basement in the fall and come to my county, the difference isn't going to be that big. Theres still going to be a fuckton of coyotes 20 years down the road. I'm assuming you live in the west or midwest, because theres no fucking way some guy in a Cesna is going to be able to kill a few hundred a day in the east unless they're carpet bombing the woods. Not everybody lives in the same neighborhood as you. Eradication won't be as easy with coyotes as it is with wolves or cougars. I'd say is probably impossible. Hunting laws are extremely lax in most areas, yet they're still everywhere. If they can't get rid of the 2,000 coyotes living in fucking downtown Chicago, they're not going to be able to get rid of the ones that are everywhere else.

I'm not going to get close to a wounded animal, nor will I execute it because as I mentioned before, I literally could not care less about a boar being in pain for a few minutes before it dies. Obviously I'm not arguing against killing boars, but a justification for killing boars doesn't equate to a justification for doing so inhumanely. Just like how under the laws of war we have an obligation to provide medical treatment to enemy wounded and generally treat them humanely. Just because it's ok to go to war and kill someone doesn't mean it's ok to treat them however you want. And just because animals don't have morality doesn't mean we don't have to use morality in killing them. Quite the opposite: it's that difference in the ability to rationalize and moralize that gives us the moral authority to go out and kill animals when they inconvenience us. That's why we can go into the woods and shoot animals we don't like but can't do the same with humans. Declaring any human activity a "morality-free zone" is extremely dangerous thinking and leads to things like how the Islamic State fights. I find it odd you point out that you don't dislike boars on a person level, because I agree and that's exactly why there's no excuse for treating them inhumanely. Animals are incapable of moralizing and understanding the consequences of their actions: a boar is no more or less "evil" than a deer, which is why we don't hate it personally, but it also means that we shouldn't treat it any more or less humanely than a deer.

It's just my opinion that if you go out to hunt things you should be prepared to expend the effort to finish off the animal humanely when you don't kill it clean the first time. If you really can't afford the 20 cents it costs to put down a wounded animal with a 9mm you should probably stop hunting and go put some more hours in at your job until you can afford to hunt humanely and properly.

The hybrids in my area of the midwest (coy-dogs) are really fucking ballsy. They interbreed with all the farm dogs and are HUGE by coyote standards (60-80lbs), and form mega-packs numbering 50+. I've had a megapack that was going to try me on in broad daylight on my farm until I shot 3 of them with my CCW. I now no longer go out to my farm without a rifle or shotgun.

Supposedly the county north of me has a megapack that's over 300 'yotes strong. The DNR has been trying to trap it for months, and has resorted to poisoned bait and helicopter shoots. They did one last January and killed 770 in 4 hours between 2 helicopters, in one county.
