So whats up with the HPA?

Speculate on whats going to happen!

What are you going to buy?

Do you already own suppressors? You mad or happy about HPA?
Ive got a couple, but if the HPA passes I'll be purchasing a whole bunch more, that is after the 2 years of panic buying and zero availability of anything and price gouging is over...
>>
> Do you already own suppressors? You mad or happy about HPA?

People don't buy suppressors with the intent to resell at a higher price, I think they'd be ecstatic about the fall in prices and newfound ability to buy replacement baffles.
>>
>>32289424
I think that I am annoyed at the HPA only from the standpoint that I have 6 suppressors, so $1200 tied up in tax stamps, postHPA, that probably a decent pistol suppressor and a .22 suppressor, $1200 that I can never get back, I'm not mad, just annoyed that the money on tax stamps I've spent is gone.
>>
>>32289424
>ecstatic about the fall in prices
When restrictions are lifted, demand will skyrocket and unless every suppressor company is ramping up production now to meet the increase I think we're gonna see a massive initial spike in price until supply:demand evens out
>>
>>32289691
look at it this way, you got to have your suppressors "first" from going through the atf bullshit.
>>
>>32289691
>the money on tax stamps I've spent is gone.
It's gone anyway you retard, it's not like you can go get a fucking refund. It's a punishment tax, it was gone the minute the ATF cashed the check.
>>
>>32289691
Yeah that 1200 you have 'tied up" in tax stamps isnt tied up you faggot, its gone. You have the cash value of the suppressors (Minus whatever value use takes ff for suppressorrs) and thats it. You were never gonna get back the money for tax stamps you idiot.
>>
>>32289738
>retard
oh hey thanks for being so nice buddy appreciate it

You're on reddit you nerd nobody is nice here.

>>
you guys think it will pass?

it's at 82 cosponsors. I will definitely get into the suppressor game if they're deregulated

>>32289929

>>
>>32289976
I think it will pass.

My issue is that I'm torn between buying a new barrel for my P320 so I can put a suppressor on it, or just buying a different new pistol for a suppressor.
>>
with both house and senate majority along with trump, how would there be a possibility of this bill not becoming a law?
>>
>>32289994
ive heard p226 is one of the best 9mm hosts, so maybe p320 would be awesome too.
>>
>>32289718
Yeah no kidding, prices will go through the roof, and people will be buying them and reselling them at incredible prices based on availability. makes me want to make my own and sell them.
>>32289929
Even if you want to use an oil filter, you will still need to have it seralized, they aren't saying go nuts on suppressors, you'll still need to file paperwork to "create" one, there just wont be tax stamps.

filibuster. So one guy could literally talk the bill to death. Only way to force a vote is with a 60% majority in the senate.

I've heard that since this involves the NFA, which is a tax related item, they could force a vote using something called reconciliation, which is a tax related legal... thing.

I'm hoping they could intimidate some of the vulnerable blue senators into voting for this bill.

Suppressors pretty much have no stigma associated with them anymore. Any attempt to block this by democrats will be seen as them not supporting "common sense" gun control and just confirm to their constituents that they want to make ownership harder not just on owners, but people near where they shoot.

Thank you for contacting me to share your support for the Hearing Protection Act. I appreciate hearing your views on this topic.

As you may know, this bill would amend the National Firearms Act to remove suppressors, popularly known as silencers, from the list of regulated firearms. By doing this, the Hearing Protection Act would eliminate a federal tax on gun silencers and weaken licensing requirements on such devices.

I have heard from Oregonians who support this bill because they feel that silencers help them safely enjoy sport shooting. Others have shared their concerns that removing regulations on silencers would aid violent crime by making it easier for silencers to fall into the wrong hands.

The Hearing Protection Act is currently pending in the House of Representatives and has not been introduced in the Senate. Should this bill be considered by the Senate, I will be sure to keep your views in mind.

Thank you, again, for sharing your views with me. I hope you continue to send your thoughts and observations my way.

All my best,

Jeffrey A. Merkley United States Senator

If it passes you will see an explosion of suppressor innovation, prices will plummet (after the first 2-4 years of cans being OOS everywhere) due to the competition of new manufacturers everywhere, integrally suppressed guns like you've never seen before. American consumers will be banging down the door for suppressors and the market, no longer restricted by the NFA, will respond in turn. American consumer culture is what drives innovation. Look at what demand has done for the AR-15.
>>
>>32290010
So don't run out and buy a suppressor day 1. It's not like you need it soon. Wait a couple months for prices to drop, get a used one cheap when some bodies credit card bill comes due.
>>
>>32290151
this is what I'm looking forward to

suppressors won't be a niche item anymore so prices will come way down

>>32290151
I cant even imagine the forced innovation that will happen, and the innovation of the integrally suppressed guns, AR's that are 16" OAL with a 8" barrel and fixed 8" suppressor, that'll be sexy AF

Just imagine,
your local range having a "quiet day" each week, where only suppressed weapons are allowed so no one needs ear protection

fucking incredible
>>
>>32290561
i know one indoor range that does that once a month
>>
>>32290561
Wouldn't you have to also require subsonic ammo if you really wanted them to not need hearing protection?
>>
>>32290963
yeah, I mean 5.56 supersonic suppressed isnt too bad if you have a decent suppressor, still cracks pretty loud but overall I would say its similar to an unsuppressed .22 rifle or so...
>>
>>32290223
Make pistol caliber carbines great again
>>
>>32290476
the integral suppression suppresses the shot, the second suppressor sucks up all the surrounding noise. won't even be able to hear him breathing

this

that shit better pass
>>
>>32289403
if everything goes well, whast the soonest time they could start voting on it?

also, how will cucked states like commiefornia be able to buy
>>
>>32290118
>Suppressors pretty much have no stigma associated with them anymore

Not in Ausfailia. I swear anything firearm related the anti's here literally shit their pants.
>>
>>32289403

The bill will be modified to make it easier for large manufacturers to dominate the market but not for you to make shit at home.

This final form will be voted on and passed.
>>
>>32289403

So what does this mean for SilencerCo's Maxim integrally suppressed handguns?

Do you think they will manufactur enough to keep up with demand?

They are already making duty versions to market to LEOs, so will we see integrally suppressed handguns like the Maxim 9 become at least somewhat common among LEOs? I think that would be pretty cool.
>>
>>32290010
I'm pretty certain because a suppressor would be treated similar to a firearm you could take the oil filter adapter and stamp D1CK5 on it with a hand punch. Just like an 80% lower for an AR.
>>
this means no 6 month wait for suppressors anymore?
>>
>>32297038
We'll have to buy fast before la can thow out some stupid "being quiet is bad" laws and hope they get grandfathered
