If there's one thing I know /k/ likes, it's garands that are marked way up! One of the $1800 ones had no finish left on the barrel at all.

There were several of these 1907s at different booths. Weren't they supposed to be a bitch to strip or maintain? I seem to recall hearing something of the sort.

There was a better "old curiosity" selection at this one in general. I admit it's a nice feel to see old stuff that's more beat up than what you already have. There was a 1903 hammerless that looked really rough compared to mine.

This was a curiosity to me. I asked the guy what it was but he was old, excitable, and rather confused, and instead he launched into a story about how it was a police firearm in Germany, but had stayed in an armory during the war and thus didn't have the "nazi stamp" or it would be worth a lot more and by the way the nazi's lost, if you didn't know and it's a good thing they did of course and...

I was curious, but didn't fondle it to look at what (if any) police markings it had. I didn't want him to try to really sell me on it since I wasn't interested in buying, and he was kind of spraying spit everywhere.

What is this thing, /k/?

It's an Astra 600 in 9mm Para. It was used by German police, but by West German police, after the war. Only about 10k were actually delivered to Germany during the war, and those are somewhat valuable, but one that sat in a warehouse and was eventually used by the West German police is only worth about 600 bucks.

Thank you for fixing my ignorance. As I look closer at it, I don't see any stamps on the front strap which is usually where police markings were made? That doesn't mean anything, though, it is just a quickly snapped photo after all.

It was priced cheaper than that, I think, but not by much. Wow, an actual deal at a gun show.

Last, there was this and if I'd had a couple hundred extra bucks in my wallet I'd have bought it in a second. A second, I tell ya. Instead I had time to go home and talk myself out of it, mostly by considering where the fuck I'd find ammo to feed it.

Also the guy at this booth was giving away worn Indian Head nickels, and that was cool.

Went to one last week end, lots of shottys and durr guns, a bit of overpriced surp and that one nugget that was hopelessly fucked yet still had a pice tag of $150.
Picked up a few of pic related.

Forgot to say last night, the other thing of interest was a c96 bolo that had been nickled. I'll never understand why people do that.
