Why can't their be a 40k game where you play as an Imperial Guardsman?

You'd die constantly (on purpose) and just "respawn" as one of the guardsmen a few bodies back.. in single player you even get to see yourself get shrecked as the "respawn" would reverse time by a couple seconds.

"You going AWOL guardsmen?" Would ask the Commissar, and if you didn't hoof it back to being near your fire team, you'd be shot.. only to respawn as one of the other fire team members by the Commissar.

"CHAOS!" "Kill the heretic!" the other nearby Guardsmen would yell, as they lasgun you to death. (you respawn as a Guardsmen shooting your former self, and the unit holds tight until a new Commissar arrives from HQ).
