How are AR's in cold weather?
>>32279987
passable but not great have to change how you lube em
Horrible, 556 can't penetrate snow.
>>32279987
Like any other extreme temp, depends on your lube. Dont pull a Germany and use lube that freezes in the winter.
Fuck you.

Water is incompressible, dolt.
It seems it would function fine, but getting the magazine out would be difficult without warming up.

They get cold
>>32279987
They do fine.
I live in very cold area and mine has never malfunctioned.
Also that kid from that tv show "Yukon Men" carries an AR15 and they live in fucking Juno Alaska or whatever fucking shithole town it is in Northern Alaska

>Water is incompressible
Where does this meme come from? Are HS physics profs too lazy to just say liquids have a steeper ratio of pressure added to compression gained?
>>32281001
Well liquids are not exclusively water.
And to your point, I believe that liquid water can be compressed like one tenth of a percent (really digging back in the memory banks here) to the point of being negligible for most basic chemistry

>implying snow and water is the same thing
Wow, just wow
>>32281033
water can be compressed. a lot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice#Phases
They are roughly as cold
I have had more problems with ammo then guns. Have been out in below 0F and I get some hangfires.

bull moose vs AR
I'm infantry in an arctic environment.
Colt/FN works fine. Literally no different rate of malfunction compared to summer time.
95% malfuction is magazines, 5% everything else.
The issue is assuring you keep them in the cold and never bring them in warmer temps (inside a warm tent or building) then immediately back out in negative temps. It thaws and freezes moving parts rather quickly.
I suggest using either extremely high quality lubricant or none at all. We get LAW rarely, so I never lube up.
>>32279987
M16's perform fine in cold weather. Sleep with it in sleeping bag.
Not much else to say. Keep it lubed.
>>32280131
What lube is that?

>he thinks snow isn't made of water
