those regs were on a time limit which ended mid 2015. Also the REM's required for it can be gotten from Korea as well. I just don't think its become that much of a concern.

Goddamn it, OP, the Magne-Helmet was canned back in the fifties for very good reasons and every few years someone tries to bring it back as the next big thing. When it's active your bullets are attracted to the magnet too, causing them the to go off-target and missing your opponent. Field testing also showed that reloading with a magne-helmet risked the magnet pulling the magazine out of your hand and smacking you in the face.

There was an idea about bodyarmour where outer and inner liners were high-voltage electrodes. The idea was that an impacting bullet shorts the circuit and softens up, melts and evaporates without further penetration.

The rumour is that they actually tested the idea for tank armours.

probably because it's not really working on lead bullets. if the bullet has an iron core, you could slightly alter the path of the projectile with a huge fucking magnet like the ones used to lift cars slightly if it passes close enough.

this would mean a magnet the size of a car could redirect bullets that would scalp you into not harming you, but if the bullet would hit your nose it will do barely anything to it.
and if you are shot in the dick you will be shot in the dick, not even the strongest magnet ever made by humans will change that sitting on your head.
