Hello everyone, I am looking to get a firearm for myself. I have some experience shooting with my family when i was a kid, where we shot usually my uncle's AR-15, M1, .38 revolver and Sig (don't know model numbers).
I have about 2k to drop, and was looking into getting a shotgun for clays and/or a good pistol for action shoots at the range. Ammo price is not a problem barring something stupid. Pic unrelated.

OUT OUT OUT.
YOU need to leave.
Get a Glock, Mossberg 930, and a Palmetto State Armory AR-15.
All three should run you $1500 and are all reliable, cheap to feed and maintain.

Listen to him if you want to be practical. You really can't go wrong with those choices.
I'm going to suggest something a little different though. Get a Colt 1911, because everyone should own one. They are beautiful guns with an iconic history. Then get a Benelli M1, because it's an utterly reliable semi-auto shotgun. Semi-autos will have less felt recoil and will be more fun to shoot. Enjoy!

Don't be a dummy, OP. Spend that $2k on a nice AR. Pistols are for CC and shotguns are for bird hunting.

Planning on getting a CCL eventually, and frankly im shit with a rifle, maybe ill get a cheap AR like was suggested to get good. Shotgun is just fun for me, lot less focus, lot more talking shit with the guys.
Piggybacking on this thread because I'm in the same situation sorta. Want to buy a gun, living situation means it has to be a pistol, can afford to drop $700 tops. Any tips?
