I like it

Its made of compromise plastic instead of steel.

I get it. The average numale limpwrist cries about weight. But damn. What happened to git gud?

Not a Block...hurr durr.

Nothing, gun is better than the other wonder 9s.

>430$
Cheaper than basic glock
>+p factory barrel
>tough as shit finish
Dropped mine on concrete and it didnt scratch
>steel novak sights
No plastic sights to replace
>trigger feels like a 1911 series 80 trigger
Not quite a series 70 but still better than most striker triggers

They tried to compete with themselves and fix what wasnt broken for a market that never asked.

Nothing
>>
Nothing really. Its a generic striker polymer pistol with the ruger logo on it.
Decent trigger, solid ergos, average to slightly above average accuracy from what I've and eats +P without complaining.

Gonna pick up the compact model next month because I'm a ruger fanboy.
>>
Why does every company plaster their logo and name in obnoxiously large block lettering all over any spot that is big enough to fit it. It just destroys the aesthetics and I am not going to spend money to advertise for you.
>>
>>32256829
Nothing.
It's ok.

god, ruger firearms look like shit
>>
They felt the need to re-engineer their entire polymer design. In the process they made them more prone to jams, 4 ounces heavier, and less ergonomic in a misguided attempt to take a portion of the LEO/operator market. The sights, absent magazine disconnect, safety delete, and discrete loaded indicator are improvements but nothing that wouldn't have been easily implemented on the older design.
>>
It's literally just another near identical entry to an already saturated market. It's closest competition in the same budget is the SR9 so they're just dividing their own market share.

They can't expect to compete with the next teir up either because they don't offer any advantages over those pistols. They do have the disadvantage of having low quality injection molded parts in an overly complex serialized trigger pack. I get the concept of having the ability to own several versions of a gun with only one serialized part but right now, your options are 9mm, .40 and .45acp all in full size handguns. I just think they're missing the concept here and the public is subconsciously proving that through actions.
>>
and it doesn't help that they shit out a single update a year for their line-ups so 6 versions of the pistol will take 6 years. sub-compact 9mm coming 2021

seems fine to me, shot one a couple of times, didn't hate it but didn't love it either. I didn't experience any hang ups or any thing that would suggest it was unreliable just seemed like a gun like the VD9 already accomplished what they were going for.
>>
>>32257417
Just keep it minimal. Its a tool not a fucking childrens toy.
>>
>>32257264
10/22 is a fantastic .22, I'm not sure I understand why you people feel loyal to particular brands rather than just buying whatever suits you the best.
>>
>>32257264
22 for me is a meme round. yeah i know you could kill with it, i just refuse to buy anything that shoots that round. oh but you can plink with it all day, yeah, if i was a 5 year old girl maybe i would get off of shooting 22lr.
If I want to shoot, i want to feel the recoil, feel the bang, see the fire etc. I don't know one particular situation where 22 would suit me for anything.

jams after every 30th shot

its a toy, a deadly one, but its just a toy

and i fucking hate the magazine, if I wanted a revolving cylinder if have a fucking revolver.

> muh 25 round magazine
> correction: jams after every 15th shot now

I can literally kill the same small game animals it will kill using a 4.5mm pellet gun
>>
>>32257755

>feel the recoil, feel the bang, see the fire

So you only like guns if they make you feel tough, you don't hunt, and have minimal commitment to becoming a better shot.

Definitely things you should brag about on /k/

>>32259765

>same as 4.5mm pellet

This is wrong. Affordable pellet guns are also not very fast or handy to use.
>>
>>32256829
>be ruger
>have a moderately successful glock clone on the market (SR9 series)
>"How can we improve our pistols to be more competitive in the current market"
>"lets make it four ounces heavier than the SR9 to start"
>"Great idea! but we're not there yet. lets not offer it in as many calibers as the SR series, who shoots 40 anyway"
>"and the 45 should only hold ten rounds. thats plenty"
>"this is all sounding good to me guys, but i think we should make it $120 more than the SR9, so you can really feel the molded plastic luxury"
>"I think that about does it, lets go lay off the SR division"

Another success by ruger.
>>
>>32256829
They tried being yet another glock killer, like every other company failing to realize glocks hold on the polymer, striker fired handgun market will never be taken away so long as glock exists.
>>
>>32256829
The consensus is that its just another wonder 9 not bringing anything new to the competition.

My take on it is that its cheaper than alot of the competition to include glock, with a pricepoint of 440$. Its the only one coming out with a +p rated barrel from factory.

I have one. I bought it in january just because with the small grip it felt like I was holding a 1911, and the trigger break felt very SA trigger like, alot like a another anon said, a series 80 trigger, not as crisp, but still very 1911 like.
>>
>>32256829
>What went wrong?
Glocks already exist
>>
>>32256829
I shot it.

It felt like shit. It was a full size 9 and yet somehow managed to do a shitty job mitigating recoil. It think it had a lot to do with the horribly designed back strap on the grip. I felt pretty much like MAC in their review. It just didn't offer anything new or even better than what is out there. It felt jumpy when you pulled the trigger like it was reveling in it's cheapness and the reset was really long.
With such a low price point and established name brand, I'm surprised it didn't do better.

If they switched up the back strap, gave it a better recoil spring and lowered the bore axis I might would get one but it'd just be on par with everything else at that point.
>>
Glock guy here that likes Ruger

I wanted it to be good but it was ugly and felt bad in my hand and the trigger was meh tier.

We have a compact model on our rental wall at work. Thing feels like a brick, isn't that accurate, and it is much heavier than a Glock 17. Weight wise it is comparable to maybe a commander 1911.
>>
>>32260386
> Its the only one coming out with a +p rated barrel from factory.

I'm pretty sure a Glock 19 can shoot +p+...the armorer's manual says so anyway.
>>
>>32256829
It's ugly as sin and the market is already full of generic plastic fantastics. If it had some AESTHETICS then it would have done better. Ruger has no hallmark on design. They make good stuff, but it's all forgettable.
