Only one way to find out
Not very well. Not enough powder will burn to get decent pressure. You could possibly use a faster burning powder but this may blow the receiver

Yeah but you got to port the smaller barrel into the larger barrel. Weld a plug on it and drill out holes up and down the barrel. This gives a space behind the projectile for the gas to expand before reaching launch pressure. The plug keeps the gas from shooting through your projectile like a torch.
(With the barrel plugged it can only shoot blanks and thus isnt a SBR... technically... ish projectiles are muzzle loaded).
There is a novelty beer can launching AR upper that works the same way.
I want to make something for .22 blanks with a launch barrel sized for used bb gun C02 cylinders for backyard lolz.
I miss my flare gun.

In theory yes. But when loading the blanks for it, you couldnt use rifle powder, you'd need to use faster burning handgun powder so it can build up the pressure fast enough.
The calculations for which should be relatively simple.

Just use bullet trap grenades.
