Like M16A3 variants, not looking for a modernized tacticool as fuck rifle. Just want a 20" M16 copy.

Windham Weaponry Model R20GVTA4S-7

probably Colt
>>
FN milspec series
>>
Why do people like you hate the "tacticool" boogeyman so much? Someone in another thread linked it to self esteem/confidence issues and I just have to wonder.

You mean the tacticool guys are the insecure ones right?
>>
>>32251428
Like the other guy said, it's an aesthetic thing.
Also, I like tacticool, I just don't want THIS rifle to be tacticool.
I have a PTR and an M4gery that have over $2,000 worth of shit on a piece.
>>
>>32251450
Is it anon
Or can you not afford optics and quality parts?
>>
Didn't realize 20" is getting rare. Back when I got mine it was a 20" and it was one of the most common. Probably 50/50 with the 16".

anyways if they are I can see why. That 4 extra inches is very noticeable when you're actually carrying it.
>>
>>32251478
No
The ones that are scared of it and of being called tacticool are the insecure ones.
>>
>>32251491
Im a poorfag but if you gave me the option between an m16a2 copy or a tactical ar 15, i would go with the m16
>>
>>32251552
Yeah im sure it will look really good on the range.

Probably, m16a2s are pretty cool

I want one but it would have to be a USGI parts kit, to go with my A1 parts kit build. Looks like midwest-distributors.com used to have A2 kits minus lower for $350.
>>
>>32251579
They projected first. What are you scared of? Someone will see your aimpoint and call you a mallninja? Some idiot on here will make fun of you for having a light on your gun? Get real. If you don't have a rifle for looks and a rifle for action (and looks if you do it right) you're doing it wrong.

PSA make pretty nice 20" uppers, could build out an A3 clone pretty easily

Kek, are you saying that people are afraid of tacticool fags? The ones who buy gear they don't need and always talk about high speed low drag, wearing molon labe shirts. You're saying that those fags, the ones constantly trying to look tacticool infront of everyone aren't
insecure? Hahahahaahahahah

Buy FN, boi. They're the ones that make it for the Murican military.

Del-Ton makes pretty good M16A2/A4 copy.

Windham Weaponry makes them. I actually built 3 AR's from WW parts. 2 were 20 inch. They have a nice barrel kit if that's your thing.
>>
>>32252098
This. I actually like their 20" Gov-style as a base for cheap varmint rifles and they usually cycle well with just about everything, including <50gr loads.

WW and Colt sell a complete AR-15a4. Sounds like you're in the same boat as me, I want a plane jane a2 but no one sells a complete. I've resorted to building. Good luck!

I'm a huge fan of a fixed carry handle, but a A4 with the attachments the military uses would be cool.
it also opens up more options for Optics

Nice hat. Yeah my local shops only have carbines and free floated tacticool rifles. You build your a2? Just got my upper built.
>>

got a complete upper.
used an engraved 80% lower to complete it.
too many companies were not willing to engrave the COLT logo.
trigger holes are a bit off so I'm gonna order a M16A2 custom Aero precision lower when they come back in stock.
>>
>>32252724
Do you have any pics of the engraving? Deciding on a lower is my sticking point right now. Over three hundo for an 80 with a jig and tools is a lot.

bad pic but only one i have

the 80% tooling was expensive ya
in hindsight i should have gotten a stripped lower and had some small company engrave it.
>>
Wanting to do a snowflake A1/A2 build in 6.5 Grendel. Figure an A2 upper would be easier and cheaper to get than an A1 repro. What's my best bet for a completed upper? I already know I'm going to have to buy the barrel, gas system and hand guards in bits and put it a together, so I'd like to cut out as much hassle of putting the rest of the upper together as I can.

Also, how are the Alexander Arms lowers? Overpriced for what they are or decent? Better alternatives?
>>
>>32252826
this is where i got mine just with the 1:8 barrel

>>
>>32252864

Oh I've found plenty of A2 complete uppers. My issue is that I want it chambered in 6.5 and I'm going to put triangle grips on it, so buying a complete A2 upper gives me a lot of stuff I don't need.

Then again, I have no idea how easy/cheaper it would be to get the complete upper and then have a smith swap out the barrel.
>>
>>32252815
Thanks for the pic!

Windham weaponry has an a2 bbl kit with the basic tube, birdcage, and handguards.

Disregard, I'm retarded. Not even pretending.
>>
>>32252911

Don't sweat it, I should have clarified that I was looking for an unbarreled A2 upper. I figure a stripped upper would be cheaper, but then I would have to source all the little bits or the sight and stuff and figure that after factoring in shipping it would be easier and probably the same if I just got a complete unbarreled upper.

Does a gooseneck with a magnifying optic work on an A2, or is it purely for a red dot?
>>
OP, if you want an A1 it'll be a little pricy and you'll have to build it yourself. A2 is a little easier to do but it's doubtful you can find a completed rifle like that.

http://shop.ar15sport.ihoststores.com/productinfo_v3.aspx?productid=UPPER-556-A217

Find a place selling an A2 lower or build one yourself off a stripped.
That company also does A1 uppers but they're usually out of stock/backordered

PSA sells flattop 20 inch uppers. If you want the true carry handle (not the shitty detachable) wait for a Delton A2 upper to come in stock (either from delton or midsouthshootersupply) and then buy a 20 inch barrel assembly from Windam Weaponry.
>>
>>32253410
Multiple people sell A2 uppers. Numrich right now has them for like $70 with the dust cover and forward assist already installed. Just need a $50 rear sight kit and you're good to install a barrel.

I don't mind a foregrip but then again it does not really aide in my shooting either. I don't consider my self a purest but I just really don't need any accessory on my ar other than a sight.
