How retarded would I be to turn down a Uberti 1873 Cattleman 45LC(new model) for $350 after everything? pic extremely related. this would be my first handgun. the guy manages a shop and would do the transfer right there. He wanted $400.

>Uberti Model 1873 SAA 45 Colt
>4 5/8" bbl
>6 shot single action
>Taylor and Company importer.
>W/orginal Box and papperwork

Not bad. Personally I'd get a ruger so it can handle a lot more than cowboy loads. Hell in my ranch hand I run 325 grain bear stoppers. Use that money for something with a lot more strength because 45 colt is an amazing round and can overpower 44 magnum of hand loaded
>>
>>32249030
Aren't the uberti's still able to handle modern loads? Only they're cap and ball stuff is technically BP only.
>>
>>32249009
.45 colt is really expensive. he's probably selling it because he never wants to bother spending the money to shoot it and doesn't reload .45 colt.
>>
really good price on it if you had the money to throw down why not. from a i want a gun to use utilitarian standpoint why bother? 45 longcolts fucking expensive and a revolver is a century out of date.
if youve got the money to spare get it at that price you could easily sell it later and breakeven/profit. if this is going to be your only gun for self defense/ccw skip and buy something practical
>>
>>32249009
>uberti SAA
>$350
>in that condition
pretty retarded desu but
>45 long colt
>buying an SAA/a 45 long colt revolver as a first gun
you're going to have a bad time
>>
>>32249009
literally just buy it and resell it for $400 on gunbroker lol

i'm pretty damn sure this is that exact model

you couldn't possibly lose.

I have one in .357 Mag, heavier than the .45lc and beefier. I love it.

Very.

>6 shot
5 shot

I'd do it, but if it's your first handgun I strongly suggest watching videos on youtube for proper usage. Also .45 Colt is a bit expensive.

That said, the SAA has always been a fantastic handgun and Uberti makes a good copy.

It's very capable of shooting any standard factory load of .45 Colt. Pressure is limited by SAMMI to be safe for guns made early in the smokeless powder era. No worries unless you handload.
>>
Uberti is probably the premier manufacturer of replica Old West firearms today, and the Single Action Army is a really fun gun to shoot and load.

Keep in mind, however, that it's obviously not a good choice for carry and that the ammo, while not hard to find, is more expensive than most other handgun ammo out there.

Don't trust the Uberti safeties. SAA pistols and replicas can never be carried safely with a live round under the hammer.

that's sort of a lame model. i hate that case hardened shit.
>>
>>32249105

pay no heed to the mall ninja
>>
>>32249567
I think it's their most basic replica. I prefer bluing or nickel myself, but a case-hardened finish on a sub-400 gun is infinitely preferable to the kind of painted-on finish that you find on modern handguns.
>>
So far mostly what everyone has said
>.45 LC can be expensive, at least compared to other pistol cartridges

But its also incredibly fun to shoot, Uberti makes great looking and reliable handguns, and for that price it's very reasonable.
As long as you are already familiar with guns and own others, it'd be a strange first handgun but by no means is it detrimental
Plus
>Twirling
>>
>>32249601
>Twirling

Ocelot plz go
>>
>>32249594
no. their most basic SAA is the hombre. it's a really shitty one with a brass trigger guard. the case hardened is fine. I just don't like that look and would rather have nickel or stainless 9/10 times

desu I wouldn't buy this unless you have some extra dosh in the bank. you could probably make like $50 on it if you just wanted to flip it, but I don't think it'd be a good choice as a first handgun. you could literally shoot a .22lr 10 times for every 1 shot out of this fucking thing. it's pretty dumb.
>>
Uberti and Pietta are shit quality. Save your shekles

For me, it is the Glock. The best striker fired pistol.
>>
>>32249009
Save your money for something worth owning like a real colt SAA. DESU I'd buy one of those model 10 police trade ins over this thing.

>>
>>32249009
i dont know what they regularly go for but i have been wanting a SAA lately and was told ubertis are good clones
>>
>>32249009
Go for it. Uberti is extremely high quality and authenticity for the price tier. A Horseman wi be more expensive but has coil springs and a transfer bar that increases safety and durability if that is a factor to you.
I prefer the more historically accurate style.
>>
>>32250056
that is the horseman.
>>
>>32249050
I'm pretty sure it can handle standard pressure rounds, but I wouldn't use any of the hotly loaded stuff he was talking about.
>>
>>32249062
This so much this

45LC is literally 45acp at .44 mag prices
>>
It would be probably the worst first gun you could possibly buy, no joke, but that's a good price and I'd take it if I wanted an SAA.
>>
>>32249881
>I've made the mistake of buying both of these and now I need to defend actions by encouraging others to make the same ill-advised decision. therefore, making me feel better about myself.
>>
>>32249105
You're not pretty good.
