Buckmark or Mark III?
I am leaning tward the buckmark camper because my dad has a mark II, the buckmark is said to be easier to clean, and i like the looks of the buckmark better. Both are ugly guns and i saw considering an sr22 but I don"t want to give up the acceracy

Why would you want a mark iii instead of a mark iv? As far as your actual question, get the gun you like more. It's a .22lr pistol, you can only count on so much accuracy in the first place.
>>32245568
hold both. both are solid pistols. the ergonomics are different enough to make a choice.
>>32245619
Is the iv better than the iii? Not a lot of info on the iv out there
>>32245651
The iv is basically the same as the iii, except it's easier to strip and reassemble. So it's the mark iii without any of the flaws of the mark iii.
>>32245619
Oh wow, the mark iv actually breaks down. I am getting that.

The MOST accurate pistol shooting in the world is done with a 22.
>>32245747
One caveat to all this. The Mark IV is pretty new, so I don't know if they have one yet, but I love the 22/45 variant of the Mark III I have. My family has a couple about, real good pistols. The good parts of the Ruger .22's with the amazing, classic 1911 ergos, can't beat that.

My local gun store has 3 of them but they are likely going to price gouge me. Also they are real cunts. and wont tell prices over the phone. Been price gouged every time i bought a gun there but they pretty much have a monopoly in my area. Is i can get it for 500 i will buy it, anymore and i am going to walk
Neos.

Just buy online man. You can get a target Mark IV for like $420 shipped.
>>32246334
Its an option. I need to see what the store has the gun going for first.
>>32245568
It infuriates me they don't make a 9mm version of the mark 4.
Why the fuck would you fix the action of the Luger and name your company Ruger and not make a 9mm blowback Luger clone?
>>32247619
it would have to be huge to operate the same way as a mk series. straight blowback is fine in a 22lr but not in a gun of the mk series size
>>32247619
Retard post of the day thus far.
>>32247619
.380 has traditionally been the upper pressure limit of direct blowback designs. If you think you can make a good one in 9 that can handle +P though, be my guest.
Op here. Got the Mark IV for 500. Talked him down from 530. They fucked me kike usual but i got the gun so it's okay
>>32248344
well as long as your happy
>>32248344
How is the trigger? I have a Buckmark with front fiber optic sight, wanted a 22/45 but live in Cuckifornia. The trigger on mine is like 3lbs and insanely smooth.
I don't have a .22 pistol, but I plan to buy a browning buckmark just like my dad's. I love that goddamn thing.
>>32248360
Thanks, i'm satisfied. Finally have sometime to shoot the 6000 rounds of bulk 22 lr i have other than the ol marlin
>>32248344
The ease of takedown alone is worth it desu.
The buckmark is alright but they specifically say in the manual to not break the gun down at all, which always bugged me.
>>32248344
You're an instant gratification sort, huh? Buying online would have saved you a good bit of cash and also avoided sales tax.
>>32247619
The Mark I-IV have nothing, mechanically, to do with the Luger. Ruger is literally the founder's last name and the only thing the guns have in common with the Luger is the grip angle. There ARE 9mm blowback pistols out there - they're called Hi-Points.
>>32247769
HI POINT
>>32246289
Seconding the Neos. Piss easy takedown, runs like a dream, cheaper than both other options, crazy future spacegun ergos.
>>32248910
Yeah i impulse bought the gun because i impulse bought 240 dollars worth of 22 lr ammo last night. I have issues with money

Go to the gunstore hold both get the one that feels best in your hand. You can't go wrong. I did got a buckmark.
I had a buckmark. It was a good gun, aside from the fact that browning doesn't really care about measuring the firing pin, so it'll always be too long and strike the chamber, so drying firing is a huge no no (although they will almost always come peened from the factory).
Also, browning has shit tier customer support. If you're buying used, then yeah, I'd consider one. Don't buy new though, since you get no warranty in any form.

Ruger says you can dry fire their mark iii. Dodnt read anywhere that you can dry fire the mark iv but i assume they didnt remove the feature. I should read my manual because i have been try firing it.
>>32250384
Did a ctrl-f for dry in the manual i found online. Mentions dry firing twice but never covers if it is okay or not. I guess i will just assume it's fine
>>32245568
I just got a SS Mark IV and would higly recommend it. Trigger breaks at 4.5lbs and take down is a breeze. You can get them for less than $500 on GB.

>blowback
>Luger clone
Pick one you blithering idiot
Ugh just waiting for a mark IV integrally suppressed upper to drop...
>>32245568
Op, I've had both. Both are fine. I still have the Buckman. Imo it's a better pistol.
My mark iii 22/45 suffered from the magazine problem they sometimes have that causes some types of ammo to jam up on the feed ramp, especially hollow points and unjacketed lead rounds. Plus, the front sight on my mk. iii just up and loosened itself one day at the range. I couldn't group for shit, which didn't make sense.(both of these guns are very easy to group with.) Upon inspection, the front sight post just spun like a top with a flick of the finger. That was the last straw. It's gone on to somewhere else.
On the other hand, I have not had any problem with the Browning. Nor my brother's Buckman either. They are safe bros since he isn't mature enough to keep his funs at his place.
Just my 2 cents. You'll probably love the mk. iv
Being able to field strip it is a bonus.
