Thanks, left handed and already used less trigger finger. That honestly doesn't seem to be the issue. I'll try even less finger next time but I think it's sight picture. I have a habit of looking at the gap on the left side of the front sight rather than at the front sight.

Any tips for two hand DAO pistol shooting from 25 yards?

I understand the fundamentals of shooting and my groupings are decent but cannot shoot tight groups at this distance.

Most people's groupings are shit at 25 yards.

Practice at 10-15 and move up by simply repeating shots from muscle memory. That's pretty much it when it comes to the feasible distance you can shoot a pistol before you need to switch to a rifle.

One of the things the instructor had me do was lower both my hands. He said I was actually forcing my main hand up too tight onto the back strap and my support hand was also too high and getting in the way of my thumb relaxing.
So he had me keep my main hand up high, just not choked up onto it and my support hand was dropped slightly to allow my thumbs to rest better. It's going to take some time to see how much it helped but it seems like it will once the muscle memory for it is there.

Not to ruin your buzz but at 6m my grouping isn't all that bad either. I always thought I'd get the /v/ treatment if I ever posted something like that.

I mean at 6m I can pretty consistently hit within 2cm of bullseye on 5 targets, all slightly apart, within like 4 seconds or so. There's a guy who refrees IDPA around my area who does pretty consistent fist-sized groups at 25 with a regular fullsize gun, at a range where if the smoke adds up I don't even see the target at 25.

On the plus side, this is the one thread on /k/ that was actually about improving marksmanship in weeks, so kudos. We're all gonna make it.

Well good for you. I'm limited by range time.

With tax it's about $40 per range visit if I shoot 100 rounds. I just can't afford to do that every day no matter how much I want to.

For now I'm working on keeping my stance properly squared (instructor showed me how) and on keeping my shoulder properly locked and finger placement. Those 3 things are about half of my take aways.

That's very good. Mine drop about 6". Everyone says I'm anticipating recoil but I don't feel like it at all. Group stays about as tight as what you're showing except for the first 2 sometimes 3 shots, then they drop about 6".

CZ ergonomics are king

I can usually score a 3 inch group at 20 yards with my 6 inch smith, 357 magnum, though of course that's with single action after pulling the hammer back.

That's why it's my favorite range gun, the accuracy with it is amazing. The trigger is the smoothest and crispest trigger on all my handguns. And even the double action is extremely smooth.

Shoots exactly how a type of gun labeled a "combat magnum" would be expected to shoot. If I ever had to hit someone right in the cerebral cortex with a handgun, and my life or someone's depended on the first shot being the only shot that mattered, it would be with this gun.

Though this gun of course improves my aim, I'm pretty good with my little Glock 26 as well. I'm pretty accurate with it when shooting quickly.
