Recommend a range in Vegas for a tourist

Anyway, I just looked up Vegas gun rental prices and holy shit are those expensive compared to where I live. Battlefield Vegas wants like $60 for a glock 17 rental + 40 rounds. The others I looked at were also terrible.

The only advice I can give is that maybe a /k/ommando (or plebbitor) would be willing to meet up and bring some guns to whatever range you decide on, and then you can offer to buy ammo so you both save money and have a long fun session.

I'd do it, but I live on the east coast. I set up a meeting with an aussie /k/ommando a few months ago who was visiting family in the states. We went shooting for a couple hours, was a cool dude and had fun. Neither one of us raped and/or murdered the other, so it was nice.

That'd be a pretty good solution but I've probably left it a little too late notice to find someone local. Thanks for the suggestion though

Can confirm. Although as of last year they've moved away from MP5/G36K which had been the armoury mainstay for years. CPOs/RPOs still use the MP5 for the moment, however our armed response have moved onto the Sig 516 and our specialist CT unit the Sig MCX. Haven't had the chance to use one myself but they look pretty decent.

Might want to check with them first on rentals, I see a lot of asian tour groups show up there, but I'm unsure if that is a separate thing.

Supposedly American Shooters is good, but i've never been there so can't confirm.
Other than that, Green Valley range is fairly reasonable

If you're staying for a bit, there's one that's pretty close to the hoover dam. Its out in the desert but it's cheaper . Also, if you can, come and shoot in AZ, much cheaper.

Vegas Native here. If you give me $300 I'll take you and your dad to a private range where you can shoot everything from 22lr to 300 win mag suppressed from 5 yards to 900 yards. You wont get a better deal anywhere else.

These guys have been great to me. Staff are all veterans that tell decent stories and are friendly enough. They entertained my requests to attach suppressors to guns that had mounts for them, and gave me some bonuses. I ordered individual guns and got a free mag since I was going to finish up faster than a package user and I came during a slow time. That was before ammo prices went full retard though.

They didn't mind that I HK slapped and unsafed an MP5 on my own.

Ooooh boy. Was the place where I shot a gun for the first time.
I was there with a group of friends and we all had picked a handgun, AR15, and a pump shotgun. My friend shot the hanger with the AR15, apparently something flew back and struck our instructor square in the head. He later showed us the flat piece of metal they pulled out of his forehead.
I guess ranges like that just has a ton of new shooters and a lot of them, so it's not surprising if they just put up a ton of rules to ensure they don't have lanes going down or people getting hurt.

American Shooters is also an option, their range rental rates are quite reasonable. $15 to rent a handgun, $20 to rent a rifle if you don't want to go crazy with a machinegun, and range fee is $20 per day plus $3 for ear, eye protection. Most rentals include a basic primer on how to operate the safety and charge the weapon, if you're already familiar with firearms safety rules then it's fine.

Go to American Shooters, it's more of a local gun range/store but still caters to enough tourist that you won't feel awkward. It's like 5 min from the Strip/Wynn/Caesars. Good selection of weapons and not too expensive. Last time I went there they had an Australian guy working the counter.

Battlefield Vegas was great. The guy said 60% of their customers were bongs like me. We bought a couple of the package deals, which included:

Glock 17
MP5SD6
Full-retard M4 and AK47
Remmington M700
12gau pump action, cant remember which
Uzi jamomatic.

We went on a weekday and it wasn't busy. Given that it was the only range i've been to i can't comment on prices, we expected everything in Vegas to be expensive because its fucking Vegas. there were two other groups in when we went, a guy dragging out six shots from a large revolver (possibly a S&W .500) and a guy next to us with an M249 or similar - they mount these on this pole thing so your average joe can let rip.


Shit was cash. GF had an M4 stock shaped bruise on her shoulder and firing it scared the shit out of her.

I shoot at a place in PA where you can rent full auto guns of all sorts for $25 + the cost of their very cheap ammo.

You can spend $100ish and shoot 5-6 full capacity magazines out of a full auto MP5.
