Game changing weapon, ender of PDW searches. Never reaches the market.

Also the Quad Stack magazine magpul has filed a patent for. Instead they make a drum. Come on this is Magpul these guys are geniuses they can make this work.

What the hell is wrong with these people?

Nothing, FN beat them to the punch.

Magpul penciled it out and realized that:
1. manufacturing licenses are expensive and come with a whole bunch of red tape
2. the above made it so prohibitively expensive that they could only really sell their SBR-spacegun if they got a .mil contract
Guess what didn't happen

I guess just because you're good at making metal things line up in a stack and move uniformly you aren't necessarily gonna be good at making a gun
>>

how... exactly?
>>
>>32243565
They sure did make the masada work, didn't they?
>>

I'm still sad about this one. That thing had so much potential.

I think the desert tech MDR is pretty much the same thing as the PDR but I fucking hate

that
angled
stock

I mean holy fuck chop that shit off, if I want that thing bouncing up on top of my shoulder I might as well just shoulder it like a rocket launcher.

irks on so many levels, but at least its a small gun the same size as the PDR and probably functions well

>>32243565
just because a gun is a good idea doesn't mean it'll be commercially successful. The PDR would have been saddled with being an NFA item, which immediately, drastically shrinks the market for it. Combined with the fact that it would probably have been SCAR levels of overpriced, I think they figured it just wasn't worth it.

As for the mags, I think Surefire threw a wrench into those works with their casket mag, which would have been cheaper (and probably more reliable) since it was simpler than the MagPul version. Surefire beat them to market with a better product than they could have produced, and for less money.

I dig the look of that gun, but as I always say, I doubt Magpul went any further than designing the outer shell to make it look cool in gun shows. They probably had no idea whatsoever of how the internals would look, or even if that was possible to make it work at all.
