>better brands than Fjallraven
I'm not really sure what that would be at that price point. Arcteryx has no questions asked returns and repairs, but Fjallraven does the same and costs about $200 less. The material is sturdy, as fuck. And it's extremely comfortable to move with the stretch sections. I honestly doubt you or most anyone in these GQ threads has even tried on a pair, but they are awesome. Really fucking awesome pants that are leaps and bounds above REI tier nylon trousers. HIGHLY recommended. I have a pair of the Keb pants in green.
>>
>>32234645

I've had mostly Fjällräven's jackets and I think they're overpriced and not even that good quality. Sure, the fabric is strong but the stitching has not been what I would have expected and one of their membrane jackets wasn't waterproof at all.

>>32236690
Wouldn't really help you, because they are local work clothe manufacturers or have went out of business. Fjällräven manufactures their clothes mostly in Vietnam, so they can keep the prices down but the quality is down too. Boreus was my favorite brand and Halti was good too, when they still made clothes in Finland.

Gentlemen.
I have a set of camo cargo pants and they're really baggy. Good because they don't restrict movement, bad because I feel like they're a bit too wide, especially at the bottom. Looks super edgy gothkid baggy.
The only way I know to control that, is to blouse boots, which is 2tacticool4me.

Do they make slimmer fit camo pants that don't restrict movement? I'm a poorfag. Low cost options first please

Got my LBT 1476 pack from the Black Friday sale today.

I got it early enough in the morning that I could transfer everything from my normal backpack to try it out at work.

So far 8/10. Excellent weight distribution, and seems to be far more durable and lighter than my normie civilian manufacturer bag.

kinda a dumb question but im still learning about the gear i want.

My biggest problem with it is the lack of a built-in laptop sleeve. Then again, it's for military patrols and laptops aren't exactly standard issue kit.

I had to attach the LBX sleeve (tight fit around my 15 inch btw) to the velcro loops intended for a water bladder by the sleeve's string. It's OK, but it still flops around a lot on the bottom since there's nothing down there to tie the string to.

From leddit /r/preppers

Might help:

It seems counterintuitive, but keep it minimal. If shit hits the fan when you aren't expecting it, an overstocked med kit plus adrenaline means you fumble through your supplies for several minutes looking for the thing you need. Even my system resulted in looking like an idiot the last time I mopped up a suicide attempt. Your goal here is "What do I need in the space between an accident and EMS showing up?".

I have two bags, one for fast medicine and one for slow. The fast one is this IFAK which is lovely because I can take it on my hip when hiking or strap it on in an emergency and keep both hands free. Inside are:

5x 2x2 gauze, 2x 4x4

5x alcohol, 2x iodine, 1x chlorhexidine for self-sterilisation, 2x pairs of exam gloves

1x SOF-T with a sharpie through the middle

1x ARS needle-d

1x muslin bandage and 1x bite stick that you can jerry rig into a second tourniquet if needed for some godawfully improbable reason

1x pressure bandage, 2x hemostatic bandage, 1x coban, 1x ace wrap, 1x tape

1x trauma shears, 1x penlight, 1x OPA, 2x pieces of writing paper with a pen attached

I also keep a field surgery kit in the space between the thigh brace and the pack, as well as a cyclone BVM in close proximity. Altogether you're looking at a decent single or double patient CAB kit which can also serve as a field pack during the 99% of instances where it won't be something serious.

The slow bag is larger, about the size of a laptop, and has more of the same in addition to an otoscope, stethoscope, NPA, little crike kit, clinical assessment guide, a few OTC meds and electrolyte packs, and 16/18g IV kits. Usually that will stay behind with a bag of NS and a banana bag. As long as it's within a quick sprint you're not going to lose out on anything and still get to feel prepared without carrying around the unnecessary weight.
>>
>>32239341
I know http://lbtinc.com/dougstrench will do it since they may or may not be offering a realtree assault pack (dead link)

But you'd have to find a bunch of other people who are interested. I might be down, but I'd want to do a bit more research into hunting camo. That "nebraskan assassin" pic above is intriguing though, and I've seen a lot on google that is impressive... Of course, those could just be handpicked to their environment

If that custom LV-MBAV guy is around, he got his done in a custom color, maybe the shop he used would be willing to do custom camo too

When (if) it comes down to infantry combat, the large majority of ruskies would still be using their glorified OD green pattern, and we'd still be using OCP or one of the marpat variants depending on which branch is involved.

Infantry combat wouldn't just be one SF force vs another, and the reds would certainly drag everone they could out of reserves and throw them at us. Many poorly trained, poorly equipped, non-standardized units.

>source: literally every conflict up until the second Chechnan war. They pulled it together in the ukraine, but that was a much smaller, more well planned and executed event.

As for other countries using multicam that aren't NATO members, they'd all get their shit kicked in long before it comes down to infantry combat. It's easy to tell the difference between an established western military and a poorly equipped kazach soldier with an ak.

>What the hell are you talking about? You just took a picture of a yard.
Yeah, because when I go out shooting or in the woods I'm not doing it to take photos of my gear.

>So, without comparing it to Multicam
I've compared it to regular Multicam which has way too much tan for my area. Florida is all green with very little taupe and some dark browns, but no real light tans.

MC Tropic wasn't a thing when I bought my camouflage, either, but based on what I've seen of it it's too dark for my area during the summer time.

Must be a sad world, we're thinking about someone having clothing in their closet gets you upset. Do you have an argument against msg threads other than "stop liking what I dont!!1!1!!"?

~90% of what msg fags own in their collections has been or is issued to an actual military force, rather than a large percentage of kit that gets posted on here.

What's the difference between you buying some sort of camo kit, like the mountain flora, or maybe that commercial toadshit and someone else doing the same. Saying that "I actually use it" is hardly a reason, as you and I both know you'd be lying is you claimed it got used often.

If your beef with msg is that they just get kit and don't "use it," you just expose yourself. Gearqueering over "muh new crye precision carrier!" or similar is no different than camofags talking about "muh new FSB experimental pattern!"

Neither group "uses" their shit for any sort of TRUE intended purpose, so getting upsetti over either is just silly.

>mfw I have stuff passed down etc etc etc they'll never get their hands on

Yeah, one shirt, real nice. A country's variant of one of the most common patterns of the late 20th century is really something to dream about. Sure.

Yes, and you clearly know what it is since you know my stance from the /qa/ thread. /msg/ is /fa/ related, not /k/ related. If you buy camouflage patterns/uniforms based on aesthetic value and do not plan to use them for their intended purpose but instead to mix with civilian clothes for a good looking school outfit, then you belong on /fa/ not /k/. There's a reason /msg/ is called camo general and then there's a separate thread for milsurp firearms and gear sans clothing. There's a reason people here post ALICE gear setups that are useful rather than posting it in /msg/.

Speak for yourself about usage; I shoot every weekend or every other weekend and wear my camo and gear every time I shoot. No point in buying shit this expensive and this purpose-built if you're not going to know how to work around it and if you don't use it.

Turn your trip back on, this is just sad.

We might be autistic, but nick (you) is certainly even more so. Going on a /qa/ thread about the some moderators recent activity and going on his own crusade to say how all threads about clothing should be removed and not allowed on /k/. Kinda stupid, considering how his frequent is a thread about clothing.

>buying items based solely on aesthetic value

I can agree with you on some of your reasoning, I really can.

But it's not every collector that buys them "to mix into outfits." Genuinely, the only tripfag on msg that does this is Telny, and he DOES post his stuff on /fa/, but he's genuinely the only one.

99% of all other fags on msg agree that wearing camoshit in public is autistic to the nth degree, so we really aren't buying things based only on aesthetics, but rather to collect and document patterns, development, and history.

And you're correct that a majority of items in larger collections don't get worn, but that's not because they don't make for a nice fashionable outfit. They don't get worn because they're collectable. To an outsider, I totally understand how that looks stupid, but you have to remember they're just that - parts of collections.

And while some collectors don't use any pieces from their collections, many do, similar gearqueers on here. I use a set from my collection that's rather uncommon to bow hunt in, and it works wonders for me, but at the same time, it would only make sense I'd hunt in a set of grey base ASAT rather than an experimental airforce blue tiger stripe ECWCS parka!

My last point is that msg isn't comprised of only dedicated-have-to-have-every-version-and-preserve-it-forever collectors, as a rather large amount of anons we get stop buy with a few questions, make a purchase, and then stick around for a little while, not unlike what happens here, like my questions about the esapi plates and >>32240708.
Removing all msg threads because of one flamboyant tranny tripfag who IS a /fa/g wouldn't really accomplish anything, other than force a bunch of normie anons looking for some answers about flecktarn have to go interact with a bunch of libtards on /fa/ on their way to reach the milsurp thread.

Good talkin to your brother, I just did't see a reason for so much uproar, so I'm glad we could explain ourselves. Cheers.
