Probably. You just pull the trigger like any other gun. Why wouldn't he be able to figure it out?
>>
>>32229294
1. curse of teh bullpup trigger pull
2. ammunition available to civilians lacks the ARMOR PIERCING design that the ROUND IS DESIGNED FOR.
3.non adjustable length of pull.

>>
>>32229388
he's worked rifles before so it shouldn't have been hard to figure out.
>>
>>32229392

This. Every gun's got the same basic components in them, even if they're shaped differently and they're in different locations. The trigger's obvious enough, and a bit of fiddling with it would find all the other controls soon enough.
>>
>>32229422

Shit, a lever action has its mag on the bottom instead of the top; since he could see the boolits, he'd no exactly what it is.

The biggest surprise for him would be not needing to cock after every shot.

He'd catch on if he tried by the fresh round getting ejected.
>>
>>32229347
Do you think if you handed LeMat to a generic modern bad guy, he would be able to figure it out?

>>
>>32229294

Its round is only good for about 150 yards

Yes 5.7 and 4.6 are just necked pistol cartridges, as much as HK and FN marketing says otherwise.

I honestly think the AR upper from 57Center is a better buy. Slap it on an SBR lower and you've got a better gun (no bullpup trigger) for less money.
Only realy gripe is that handloading 5.7x28 is cumbersome due to the small bottleneck design. Supposedly you HAVE to use FNs laquered rounds too, but I think that's just marketing voodoo.

There's actually a lot of flaws in the design. It's a good design but I'd put the MP7 over the P90. The P90 is the AK of PDWs, very cheap to produce and very simple in its operation. The MP7 is a more refined design.

The magazine is patented by FN. It was a stillborn dream.
>>
>>32236137
Rotating a cartridge is not patented.
>>
>>32236137
Patents wasn't an issue, it was that the design only works with completely straightwalled, rimless cartridges, a rimmed cartridge (like any shotgun shell), or a cartridge with any kind of taper (like 9mm Luger), will not work in this kind of magazine.

The shotguns required special rimless 12-Gauge shells, this is what killed it, proprietary ammo is ALWAYS a big hurdle and risk, especially if it does something that other common cartridges already do.

No caseless ammo that you can make yourself after the centerfire snowflake ammo is gone post 3 months of SHTF.
Stockpiles will exhaust and eventually you run out of primers. So it needs to be electric fired with a simple crank gen for the battery or a small solar panel. That also solves the trigger issues.

>The civie ammo isn't much worst than the mil stuff for steel penetration
Yes it is.

The Vmax load won't even crater AR500 steel at any distance. The 40gr American Eagle loading will dent it, when fired through a PS90's 16" barrel, but not through the 10.38" barrel of a P90 due to how much velocity it loses (it has a MV of around 1300fps from a 10.38" barrel, IE only 50fps faster than .357sig with a bullet that weighs 1/4 as much). The only loads that are worth even a fraction of a shit against hard body armor are the SS190 (b& for civilian sales although you can occasionally grab a box off gunbroker for $8/rd) and the tungsten sabot round that never made it out of prototype because it shrek'd mags.

Vs. low-end or degraded soft armor the Vmax and the SS193 jacketed hollowpoint do "okay" but nothing better than a 9x19 NATO load of 124gr FMJ.
>>
>>32238349
>no cheek weld
...don't get an optic with a riser on it?

The irons integrated into the top rail are actually almost too low, you *really* have to mash your face onto the stock to use them. The model with the integrated optic had it at pretty much the perfect height, too bad the integrated optic was dogshit bad (like every single integrated optic ever).

A P90 paired with something like a Deltapoint, RMR, Aimpoint Micro sans riser, etc is pretty fucking great on optics placement.

>>
>>32229294
>Is a PDW
Can be fixed by converting to a rifle caliber along with a gas system, perhaps LSAT telescoping 5.56.

>Short rail length
Could be solved by switching from a top-loading magazine to a swing-out one. That would allow it to have a full length rail over the top with only a marginally more finicky reload. Still fully ambidextrous and a swing out type is capable of dropping free unlike the current top loading mount.

>No bottom rail
Simple enough to replace that front grip, I think it has already been done before.

There, now you have the assault rifle of the future. PDWs are an outdated meme.

What's with the straps against the stock? Are they holding this pos together or something?

The P90/PS90 doesn't have any sling mounts so that's a workaround - just wrap it around the stock

You do realize it's .22wmr, right?
>>
>>32252877
it's better than .22 WMR, but still pistol-tier. Most people on /k/ want 5.56 or 7.62x39 for anything bigger than a normal pistol

MUH reloading cheep ammo.
>>
>>32229294
They don't sell the SS190 to the general public.
Tri-rail is discontinued.
Its pretty sweet to use inside a vehicle, small, not as much muzzle blast as a short barrel 5.56.

so someone was telling me that 5.7 was a rifle cartridge but i think its a pistol. if it was a rifle wouldnt the p90 be a carbine instead of an smg
>>
It's energy retention is sub par, and it's stopping power is bad.

Cool magazine

PS90 for 99.9% of us
P90 for .1% of us
PDW that is outmatched in every way conceivable by bullpup rifles
You will never have full auto, so 50 round standard cap mag is useless

It's a pistol cartridge built like a shortened .223.
>>
>>32255709
Well, I have an erection. Reloading doesn't mess with the zeroing or anything?
>>
>>32229294
Glorified .22 Magnum.
>>
>>32256887
Not unless you somehow rigged the mag with rails to mount sights on.
>>
>>32229294
not in 40mm
>>
>>32257109
I've heard in the past that the AR platform upper receiver is a little rickety. I wondered if maybe the magazine's proximity to the sights caused some problems if you're a little clumsy with your reload
>>
>>32257266
Receiver-top rails are pretty much perfect as long as you leave the zeroed sight mounted to it. The mating between the upper and lower may or may not be a bit loose depending on tolerances in construction by the brand, but that has zero effect because the upper receiver is where all the post-trigger pull accuracy stuff happens.
>>
>>32257340
Duly noted
>>
>>32255145
What its action?
>>
>>32257877
It's recoil-operated, but otherwise just like a normal AR, except the rounds feed from the top from a P90 mag and eject out the magwell. It's just an upper you can buy that works with your lower.

If you have a Pistol/SBR lower they make a 6" barrel version and Gemtech has a suppressor specifically for it.

>>32229294

>shitty trigger

Well what if I want the fuckin' barrel to match my fuckin' cock, you pleb? You wouldn't know a good PDW if you had one sticking halfway out your ass!

I'm just kidding anon, you're alright, I just thought it'd be funny to give a little dingleberry of a shitpost.
>>
>>32255496
I call it a pistol cartridge. It's made to fit in a pistol grip and it's the same energy as pistol cartridges
>>
5.7 ammo is cheaper to buy than .22 magnum.
>>
>>32259713
As I recall, intermediate ammo must have a bullet weight of less than 150gr, and must have a muzzle velocity of 2000 ft/s or more. I think there's also an energy requirement but I don't have that put to memory. Anyways, I REALLY can't see 5.7x28 being intermediate.

Oh wow, well I'll be; 5.7 has over 2000 ft/s when using 23-31gr bullets from a 10" barrel. The casing also has a diameter of .31", so by the sounds of it, 5.7x28 could be ALMOST considered a .30 Carbine casing, shortened by 5mm (1/5th of an inch), and necked down to about .22 cal. Back to it qualifying as an intermediate cartridge or not, however, I HIGHLY doubt it matches the energy requirements. I'll go ahead and take a look at that now to be reminded as to what they are.

Firstly, it would seem there is indeed a minimum bullet weight requirement, and I'm betting they got it from 5.45x39. 46-139gr, though personally I'd probably allow up to 149gr and still allow it to be an intermediate cartridge provided all other specifications are met. Secondly, as for energy, 1328-2717J. 5.7 from a 10.3" barrel seems to have average around 450-550J, depending on bullet weight, so yeah, there's no way in Hell that 5.7x28 can be an intermediate cartridge even though it does match a surprising amount of requirements. Muzzle velocity requirements, since I'm at it, is 2247-3084 ft/s. 3084 must be the muzzle velocity of 55gr M193 5.56 from a 20" M16 barrel. That's my guess as to where that number came from. 5.7 from a standard FN P90 has at least 2350 ft/s, so it does follow intermediate specs in terms of velocity, but it used lighter bullets than I was expecting (though it'd be more around 5.45/5.56 weight perhaps).

Also, a reminder; 6.5 Arisaka meets typical requirements to meet intermediate specs when used with a barrel shorter than the Type 38's ridiculous 31.5" barrel... like for instance... from a Federov Avtomat barrel of 20". So the STG-44 indeed wasn't the first assault rifle.

I didn't know this until reading about it just now but apparently the barrel bottoms out against the flash hider.

When it still had the 16" barrel it had a bit of rotational play to it. I thought this was a mistake on FN's part but apparently it's intentional.

There's front to back movement now. Apparently the barrel is supposed to move backwards a tiny bit with every shot fired to help with the reliability. It's almost like a long recoil action.

Installing muh barrel right now

It's a memegun that fires a memeround and US laws make civilian ownership of any variant which would actually make use of the potential of the concept illegal for civilian ownership.
