So I just got a new gunbelt. Holeefuck is it a huge step up from that flaccid tapeworm dick of a Comp-Tac belt I had before. It's the Beltman 1.5" reinforced bullhide belt. Pic is comparing the Comp-Tac (left) to the Beltman.
I've been using this piece of shit comp-tac for two years and it made OWB so uncomfortable I only ever carried IWB. Very glad to finally have a belt that can hold its own weight, let alone the weight of a loaded G17.
What does /k/ use for gunbelts? Anyone else make the mistake of buying soft trash and not changing it for a long time because it's "good enough"?
>gunbelt
What? This is a thing? Are you a cop or something?
>>32222307
Most regular belts will sag under the weight of a gun
>>32222307
If you carry, a belt that is designed for holding objects on the side of your body is typically more comfortable.
>>32222307
Look at the first picture I posted. That belt is stiffer than most normal dress belts, and gets destroyed by a relatively light pistol.
A gunbelt is necessary when carrying a holstered pistol. That's a lot of weight and you need it carried securely without sagging or flopping around.
Why don't you post a picture holding them the same distance from the holster you fag
>>32222307
>>32222340
I'll add that the main reason a lot of people try carrying and then quit because "it's too hard" or "it's too uncomfortable" (like my father) is because they use shitty belts and holsters. Good gear supporting your weapon is a must. Nobody's going to like carrying if your gun is dragging your pants down, tilting away from your body, and flopping around when you move.
>>32222343
What? The holster on the Comp-Tac slid down when the belt collapsed. Welcome to physics.
here's a few pics of just the belts in case you think I'm full of shit. The Comp-Tac can't even support its own weight, let alone 40oz of gun and holster.

>>32222365
>no gun attached because belt is too weak to carry it
Fudds are some stupid fucks. Literally zero difference from a normal belt.
>>32222446
What?
>>32222446
Are you stating that gun belts aren't a must?
How long have you been carrying?
Post your carry piece, and holster
Do you even carry or own a gun for that matter?
>>32222446
Are you actually retarded?
>>32222307
>>32222446
niggers its monday, noguns weekend shitposting is over
>>32222446
That's my point dipshit. In case you didn't notice, those are two different belts. The new one is the one that can support its own weight and that of a Glock 17. The other floppy piece of shit is a bad belt I'm trashing because it's supposed to be a gunbelt but can't support itself, let alone a gun. And where did "fudds" come from? Comp-Tac is far from a fudd brand.

How do the aliengear belts stack up? Two layers of leather with a sheet of spring steel in between.
>>32222259
Tell us more about this ugly picture of yours, OP.
>>32222259
I use a Milt Sparks belt with a Milt Sparks holster. Comfy and secure, no complaints.
>>32222307
Guns and ammo are heavy, you need a sturdier belt to counteract the additional weight its holding.
>>32222579
>How do the aliengear belts stack up?
Poorly. They're a lot flimsier than something like a Beltman, Hanks reinforced, or similar good gunbelt.
Like everything else AG, you get what you pay for, which isn't much.
Pic related. The fact that it can even be coiled like that speaks volumes.
>>32222259
Specs on the beltman? internal stiffener? 1.75 or 1.25?
>>32222696
1.5", with the stiffener.
>>32222259
OP....
FIREFIGHTER HERE.
I have 1.5 to 2 tof 2.5 inch belts for work. Boston Leather, flat to weave as well as local market custom belts. I carry radio, pager, tools daily (far exceeding G17 weight).
Comparing a new belt to a 2 year old used one is retarded. New belts are stiff and shitty. There has to be some flexibility and within a week that new belt is going to flex, guaranteed.
What is more important when carrying weight for long periods is where it rests on your waist/hip/lower back and how much surface area the belt has to your body therefore creating tension so the belt retains its position when weight adjusts as is the case of moving things on or off the belt or unholstering a pistol.
The belts thickness is also key in providing that firm and secure feel from top to bottom down flex. If the whole belt sags when being held out with one hand that is different than the top sagging over the bottom.... like most regular belts would do with light finger pressure.

I should have pointed out that the Comp-Tac was just as soft the day I got it as it is now. Back then I only had a Ruger LCP and didn't care, but I regret not sending it back.

lol do you know how i know you're a noguns faggot with out a permit?
>>32222861
Don't need a permit in my state, and I never saw the point in open carry. Spending damn near $100 on a belt seems dumb, unless you're a cop and can write that shit off.
>>32223112
Everyone can tell you dont know what the fuck youre talking about.
But I dont think you realize that you dont know what the fuck youre talking about.
>>32223112
What belt, holster, and gun do you use?
>>32223617
Jericho 941 with a bungee cord. I have superior retention and no droop and it only cost me $2. Get on my level, gramps.
I have a Triple K 1.75" sueded that's holding up pretty well. It isn't extremely stiff so it wears as a normal belt. A decent gun belt is a good way to get a full leather belt without paying out the ass for a designer version or making one yourself.
>>32223943
Do u like that gun?
>>32222259
Ditch leather unless you like replacing your gear every year or two. Nylon can be just as degradable so you have to avoid certain brands, 5.11 for example is one I steer clear of.
>>32223943
Beltman 1 1/2 horsehide with stiffener. A bit over 2 years old still going strong.
On the note of CCW, are IWB hybrids a meme? The SG USA AIWB+ seems neat but is the attached mag holder worth the extra shekels? Also taking suggestions on IWB or AIWB holsters
>>32224964
Milt Sparks all the way for leather. Garrett industries for kydex.
Garret has been the easiest holster to conceal in my experience.
>>32222259
>ive been carrying for 3 years with over tightened belt because of pants sag when i carry my 226 under my jacket in winter
holy fuck i feel retarded. Thanks op, just ordered a big foot gun belt, hopefully it lives up to my expectations.
