If you cant CC a fill size pistol, you're using the wrong belt and holster.

I've considered it but its not really my style. I might someday, but for right now my Garand is effective for quite a fucking ways.

I have a P38k build though, the closest I'll get is maybe a PP series. I might get a scoped bolt gun someday. If I ever found a Walther R99 I'd grab it, other than that its hard to decide definitively on a specific revolver.

Interesting. I had no idea you guys could have "assault weapon" feature semi-autos.

What's the registration/qualification system like? Do you have to be ex-mil or police or something like that?

>and no FN?

Aside from pistols and older rifles, it's actually not common to see FN-H guns around. Browning, Winchester & Miroku are all owned by FN and those are commonplace though.

Part of the reason is that the Walloon government in southern Belgium owns a majority share in FN-H. And it's politically sensitive to sell "military" arms to civilians. So the SCAR, FS2000 and so on are quite hard to get. Hell, quite often, it's easier to import guns from the US, but that raises the price significantly.

Specifically for me, when I bought my Sig 551 SB, the SCAR wasn't a thing yet & I don't think the FS2000 was commonly available either. I wouldn't have bought the FS2000 anyway because while I'm a fan of the bullpup concept, I'm also a trigger snob.

I probably should buy an FN gun, just because. Not an FNX or FNP, because those are actually american guns. They were not designed in Belgium.

FNCs, CALs, FALs etc on the second hand market are getting more & more expensive. I don't expect to buy any of those atm. The SCAR Mk16s doesn't seem to do anything my SG551SB doesn't do. Maybe a SCAR Mk17s or SSR/CSR would be neat, but for what purpose?
Maybe I should get an FN MkIII (military Browning High Power) with SFS kit (cuz it's mechanically interesting & lulzy).

I think my next purchase will be one of these options:
Ithaca 37 SBS,
Sako Quad in a Manners stock,
Roland Special style polymer wonder.

>whats the range situation like in waffleland? can you go and shoot at immigrants camping out in the country side or is it ranges only?

Hunters can obviously shoot in woods where they have permission to hunt, but they're strictly speaking only allowed to shoot at prey. Even zeroing is supposed to be done at the range (though most don't give a shit). Simply going to the woods to shoot is not something that's common in my experience.

For sportshooters, you have mostly indoor ranges of 25m, 50m & 100m. There's a handful of 300-400m ranges but those tend to be military ranges which are selectively open to the public. It's hard to get membership and they often have very shitty rules.

CCW isn't a thing here. While technically possible, they made it very hard to get and you need political pull to get it. So it's mostly judges & politicians that benefit from it, as well as people who need it for their job (PI, security personnel,...). The change came about mostly due to a few jewelers shooting robbers. A few of which in the back. Shooting people in the back is against the law here since you're only allowed to shoot people which are an immediate physical threat to yourself or others. Feeling with your jewels is not something you're allowed to stop by force.

I could shoot a burglar in my house if he were facing me & coming at me threateningly. However, I can't shoot him if he just takes my TV and walks out.

>Interesting. I had no idea you guys could have "assault weapon" feature semi-autos.

You need to wade through a bit of red tape, but it's not that hard if you're patient. In broad strokes (though there's several variations possible):
Ask the government for a standard form which declares you're not a criminal.
Ask a doctor to declare you physically and mentally fit.
Become member of a sportshooting federation.
Become member of a shooting range.
Take a multiple choice exam consisting of a selection of questions from a larger list which are posted publicly online.
You now have a temporary sportshooting license. This allows you to try out guns and buy ammo for immediate consumption.
After 6 months, you can take a practical shooting exam. This is mostly safety related, it doesn't matter if you don't hit shit as long as you do so safely. They check if you can field strip guns safely, know what to to when you have a dud, etc.
If you pass, you get a permanent sportshooting license. This needs to be renewed yearly and you need to shoot at least 12 times a year. With this SSL you can purchase sporting weapons (think broadly olympian style). So any type of bolt action rifle up to 50cal, break open shotguns, .22LR pistols. These guns can be purchased & brought home immediately. The seller drafts a Model 9 permit & off you go.
If you want more "fun" guns, like centerfire pistols, semi rifles, pump shotguns, semi shotguns, etc, you need a Model 4 permit. This is requested to your governor and you can expect it to take between 2 weeks & 4 months.

Becoming a hunter requires a pretty difficult exam. Being able to tell birds apart by their shadow etc. Understandable since you don't want to shoot protected birds while hunting dove or feasant.
Becoming a collector (allows you to own full autos, but you can only "function check" them once per year) has all types of annoying requirements that I won't go into.

wow, ill never complain about the range i have set up at my dad's house not going past 100 yards again. Shooting ranges here in america rarely go past 25yds if its indoor and the only outdoor one over 100 yds i know of in my state is a three hour drive away. However, a buddy of mine owns 80 acres which gives a 500 yard line of sight for shooting. Nice funs btw

Not him, but they're just an interesting novelty. They're not practical nor accurate.

When the parts wear out they're also a nightmare to keep running. The mags need frequent maintenance and the parts are just near impossible to find most of the time.
