are mortars viable for home defense?
ON MY POSITION
Ceiling or flight time are major hindrances. 20mm is the bare minimum though.
Is your home a mortar pit?

CAN'T INVADE WHAT'S NOT THERE
>>32206204
It would be good at killing the people attacking your home
But it would be bad at protecting your home
So it's 50/50 on home "defense"

If your home is a castle I'd say yes

Castle doctrine

More like neighborhood defense
minimum range, look it up

There is a minimum safe distance. But nothing prevents me from firing one 89.9 degrees up

Or 0 degrees forward.
They're decent, the worst thing about them is that they take up a lot of space and aiming isn't easy. I prefer suicide-jackets. You can CC one easily and you don't have to even aim.

maybe if you live on 20-30 acres of land and you could catch someone trying to maneuver against your house

that depends on the size of your front lawn.
>>32206204
pretty sure you can use it or parts of it to bash it over the head of the gentlemen of nubian ancestry that are invading your home
>>32208154
at that point you might as well fire straight up and rely on the coriolis effect and/or high altitude winds in order to not hit yourself
