Jadotville was decent. After doing a little research I disagree with whichever Anon claimed that the movie had no purpose. In my opinion one of the main things the film excelled at was achieving its large social purpose, exonerating the soldiers that were actually at the battle. Ironically enough it did so at the expense of a coherent plot, and pleasingly realistic combat.

well, now I need a charging handle, some pins, a buffer tube with spring and weight, back up sights, forward assist, dust cover, endplate, castle nut, and a fixed stock.

Will transfer my PA 1-6x scope onto this one.

Biggest cost will be the BCG and the special tools for the upper.

Thinking about a Daniel Defense BCG, mainly because I've always liked DD ever since they first started.
Any other suggestions for a BCG around the $100-200? I do like the bronze coated blinged out ones, but rather spend that difference on ammo.

No one is making magnesium guns, magnesium alloys yes, it's pretty fantastic stuff. You would have to grind a decent amount of shavings or powder off the receiver to get any kind of fire hazard though. So I just bought my first AR. I got the ruger ar556 in OD. Already shot it a couple of times and I definitely enjoy it.

I'm looking to get some parts for it. I want to make it comfy to shoot at 100 yards but not necessarily accurate, just comfortable. As in easy to reliably hit a target.

I was thinking a foregrip and some slightly magnified glass (2-4x).

Not a huge fan of the cheekweld but not sure what to get for that.

I run somewhat underloaded ammo (2500fps 55g), a 0.5oz buffer, a lightened buffer spring, and an adjuatable gas block. Its also a 16" barrel with an intermediate gas system that is longr than a middy.

The gas is turned way down, if I ran a normal gas block it would be turbo overgassed and the carrier would probably start breaking bolts within 3000-5000 rounds and it would have to be tossed. It probably has 20k on it right now and its probably on its last legs. I occasionally fire 69g's at 2840fps from it and it batters the carrier.

$200 will get you a solid mount. bobro has the best return to zero and marks up the upper the least. a 30mm bobro mount is about $230. cheaper options include larue, ADM, midwest industries. stay away from ARMS mounts

With the lower gas/comp/ammo/reciprocating mass, the reticle moves about 2 inches straight up offhand at 50 yards and then back to zero. Most standard mass carriers are going to slap back and forth hardcore no matter what kind of comp you run, and produce a noticeable secondary and tertiary recoil impulse.

It also shoots about a 5" group at 600 yards.

Really the best performance a person could expect from a rifle, but you have to pay for it. Its also quite reliable, but the carrier needs to be taken out and wiped every 200 rounds or so or there is noticeable slowdown in the cycle.

Its built for a purpose, I have other setups though for general use.
