Guy at work wants to sell me this Security Six with "a couple boxes" ammo and a case for $180, what do you think? Should I take him up on it? Pic related
He assured me it's not really upside down irl

Really shitty pic
Doesn't even have the whole gun in frame.
The grip is banged up but that's cheap and easy, the finish is a bit fucked too. Only two pictures I have, I was gonna go meet up with him in a couple hours and take a look

if a couple boxes is over 100 rounds and you only want something to fuck arou d with, sure.
make sure it isnt stolen. get a pachmyer or houge grip for it, i prefer pachmyer on wheel guns.
38 spc or 357?

oh and look up what to check for in terms of function. make sure the crane arm isnt bent, it has decent timing etc.

357
If it dry fires correctly when you inspect it. I'd buy it.

Not bad. Wat better than an EAA windicator or Taurus.
Looks like the ruger i sold awhile back.
You located in NC?

FUCKING JUMP ON IT. I've been looking for a similarly good deal on a revolver in that price range, gave up and bought a fucking Jennings instead.
Try to get a signed copy of a bill of sale, though. Could be stolen or a murder weapon or some bullshit.
You should go for it as long as it looks functional. Word of advice though, go through an FFL. Get the background check and make sure you have the documentation in case >>32198961 happens to be right.

We told you last night, its a great deal OP.
1:Operate the action to make sure it cycles properly
2: Shake it a little to make sure nothing is rattling around inside.
3: look down the barrel with a light to make sure the rifling isn't fucked
If it checks out reasonably well then jump on it and buy the guy a beer because you got a great deal.
OP when doing a revolver checkout you basically maje syre it's unloaded, cock, check lockup (cylinder shouldn't rotate but can be loose), decock with trigger held all the way down, this is full lockup and there should be minimal or no play, do this for all 6 chambers.
What makes it tricky is that Rugers tend to be slightly loose even when new. Even at full lockup.
that's a good deal, I'd jump on it
I have one of those. I never shoot it but CCI is making 4 shot bb ammo and I might hunt grouse with it.
Well OP here, I went ahead and bought it and he threw in some...extras....
Whatta goodie bag
How 2 take good pic of rifling
