Is my DMR Shitty?? i bought low end parts where it did not count. All i can get is Sub-MOA, i want to key-hole the kiester everytime tho. How can i get better.

Honestly at that point it comes down to practice time and ammo.
-Consider upgrading to a better bipod if you're not resting it on a sandbag. An Atlas is probably the best out there, but a Harris Bipod works if you're trying to cut costs.
-Next, Ammo. If you really want to punch dime sized groups you either have to start handloading or pay out the ass for Match Ammo. Federal Gold Medal Match, Hornady Match, or Black Hills are all commercially available that will definitely do the job. Stick to 62/69/77gr bullets if you want to push it out past 300 yards with repeated accuracy.
-If you really want to splurge you can send it in to a barrel company like Krieger and upgrade it to a heavy stainless 20" or something similar for extra rigidity and better velocity. Don't go past 22-24" honestly, a .223 won't really benefit from any additional length beyond that and will simply make it a pure bench queen and nothing else.

If it's made with low-end parts and you consistently score sub-MOA I'd say that you've done a pretty good job, especially considering it looks pretty cool, never thought about fitting a DMR with that kind of 'perforated barrel-shroud' looking free-floating fore-end.
ill try better ammo. Thx. Fuck bipods were $200. Maybe the larue QD has something to do with it.

>18 inch barrel

Shit nigger, what are you doing.
>>32194953
Yeah OP why would you not build a .308 or something? A round actually suited for a DMR?
>>32194953
>>32194972
This meme again.
5.56 has GOAT-tier ballistics all day.
For a DMR I would have gone with 308 instead of 5.56, but hey it's your gun. That EGA on the buttstock is aesthetic as fuck too.
>>32194992
If you're gonna build a "DMR" in 5.56, why not go with at least a 20 inch barrel?
>>32194972
>>32194953
It'll work.
>>32195004
Did I specify a barrel length? There is a good velocity testing out there that shows no benefit past 18", if I recall correctly.
Of course you'll want to go with a full size, quality rifle barrel.
>>32195023
>no benefit past 18"
The M16 has a 20" barrel for a reason, 5.56mm performs very well from it.
>>32195023
Except 5.56 was designed for optimal performance out of a 20 inch barrel.

are you a retard?

>>32195041
I do agree that a 20" barrel is a good choice for a DMR. 18" may do just as fine, but testing and data are the only things that can say that it will or will not.
anons please, I'm an engineer. I make otherwise petty arguments for a living.

HEY EVERYONE ITS A WILD FAGGOT
>>32194992
I'm not memeing, how does a 5.56 compare to a .308 at distance?
Show me some ballistic tables plox

Until it goes subsonic at 400 yards.

how about you actually go shoot them ya dumb bitch? 5.56 will ride some wind. 308 will fuck shit up.
You are all absolutely autistic piles of broscience.

How much better would you imagine 308 performing out of a 20" vs a 24" barrel?
