why does /k/ get triggered when people say "platform" or "running" something
what other nomenclature does /k/ dislike?
>SR-25 platform
>>32189045
>why does /k/ get triggered
Because we're a bunch of autists.
Also, such phrases are generally used in memespouting with no real understanding.

>active shooter

For me, that's jerking off and waiting around
>operator(s)
just fuck right off with this bullshit
>weapons system
Unless you are talking guided rockets or crew-served stationary weapons or something like that, please use 'firearm' or 'gun'

This. As opposed to what? An inactive shooter? >a cheetos dust covered ugly-ass 500 pounder with an AR splerging rounds off at his community college
Not really nomenclature, but when someone refers to UCP camouflage as ACU, I get triggered.

Every industry has buzzwords. The ones that gun people are irritated by mostly stem from the tactical lingo that started getting used around the time that the magpul dynamics dvds came out. Phrases like running, platform, operator, employ/manipulation, and all the others are ways to advertise that your products or your training is extra special. It's just pretense and branding.
>>32191697
>manipulation
I'm ok with this one, as it is usually used accurately when referring to ergonomics or something of the sort
>bolt manipulation

Active shooter is a catchall term that's used to describe a lot of different situations where someone has a gun, but what it means to the public is a mass shooter with an assault rifle. The prick that just martyred himself was initially reported as an active shooter without even having a gun. It social conditioning.

calling a trigger "the go pedal"
just fucking stupid. its retarded when talking about cars, its retarded when talking about guns. Except for toddlers and ESL students, I cant think of a single instance of "the go pedal" being an acceptable term to come out of someones fingertips, pen, or mouth.

>why does /k/ get triggered when people say "platform" or "running" something
/k/ is filled with hobbyists that think anything related to performance shooting is tryhard because it makes them feel inadequate.
Instead of actually getting out to the range and improving, /k/ would rather argue about semantics, terminology and a bunch of other dumb shit while everyone else progresses.

Yes, nomenclature is wrong.
Improve your vocabulary and use the proper vernacular. Maybe take a stroll through a dictionary.

He was reported as an active shooter because it was a chaotic situation with a dozen victims and there was gunfire, it isn't conditioning you retard
>>32189045
I don't know, it's kinda stupid. Requesting pic of tactically running mustard on hot dog.
>running
I have no issue with this one
>modular
When you're referring to something like an AK, no it's not modular. Just because somebody shoehorned rails onto doesn't mean the gun was ever modular, ever design in bits or designed for replacement parts. The AR, on the other hand, was actually designed for that (see: AR-10 LMG)
>weapon system
>platform
this one is tactical dorks trying to sound cool. It's a rifle and nobody configures one to be anything but a normal rifle. The only gun I might ever call a "weapon system" is the Stoner 63.
