both in 7.62x39
Vepr is unconverted, can't accept double stack standard AK mags, comes with single stack cucked mags, but it's a vepr, going for $699.
The wasr, RH10, is imported by Century Arms with replaced furniture, modified front sight and gas block combo and a bird cage style flash hidder, going for $679.
Whichn would you choose and why? Value? Performance? Quality?

The WASR, obviously. I've been shafted into eventually getting a Vepr variant due to the fact I live in Maryland, home of shit gun laws. I'd simply exchange the furniture on that WASR, Zhukov magpul is ass.

I've heard of very mildly cracked rivets and things like that appearing on the RH10s, but nothing too extreme. I'd go for that and switch out the furniture, or at least the handguard. Folding stock is really convenient.

It takes 5 minutes to make it accept standard mags and some rifles will run without a bullet guide. Even if it won't that'll be an extra $20 and another 5 min.
If you're goin to repace the furniture anyway, why not get the more robust rifle?

That doesn't change the fact that the Vepr is built better, generally speaking, than the WASR/ RH10.
Also, I'd shell out the extra cash for the square-back Vepr, since it's already converted, but that's just me.
