Why do people shit on these tiny .380 pistols when you could literally carry them 24/7 with zero fatigue? I can't see myself carrying a Glock 19, or even a Glock 26 at all times.
>>
>>32175431
I always carry my lap with me as a backup. Very nice to have such a small light pistol.
>>
The slim single stack 9s out today are about the same size, but give you an actual self defense cartridge. 380 is borderline if beat.
>>
I carry a bersa 380 all the time super accurate and reliable pistol for me
>>
>>32175431
They are not fun to shoot at all, and you will probably not take it out to shoot and get good at shooting it because of that. That's really it. This seems to be why more people are going with the Shield, or larger/heavier .380 handguns like a PPK/S. If you don't give a fuck and just want something to point and shoot, it's fine. Also, muggers will steal shit from your pockets, usually not pat you down for guns on your waist or chest.

because 9x19 is just so much better than either 9x17 or 9x18 that they really shouldn't be bothered with. you're way, way better off buying an m&p shield. It's still extremely easy to carry but doesn't suck dick to shoot and uses a good caliber.

Ruger lc9s here.

Love the thing, it's 9mm single stack and holds 8.

Can get 10 round mags for them too.

I have a difficult time loading 7 rounds into the fucking magazines, not sure how normal this is.

they're basically the same and these are "factory loads" so .357 can obviously have bigger loads.

No idea. If I wanted to carry I'd go with a kahr or Ruger LCR with a pocket holster. It's just so easy and .380 with modern ammo is effective enough.

This is true. I bought into the .380 LCP pocket carry meme. My co worker's Shield in a sticky holster fits right into my pocket. Even easier to draw actually since I can get a grip on the Shield.

Now I'm probably gonna buy a G43 for pocket carry and a double stack for IWB carry.

>>32175431
IDK, I have a PPS but I want that LCP2 for a shorter overall length. Can't use a traditional IWB, pocket holster, or any chance of printing. It's not optimal but it's better than my benchmade while working.
>>
The easier it is to carry the more you should really just consider not carrying at all.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to carry a palm sized 9mm with 10 rounds like lc9s could be. It's fantastic, the capacity is enough and the gun itself works without any major issues.

I know it's silly but it's a great little shtf gun too. It's light enough that you can carry it for days and keep it on you as a fantastic secondary.

I carry a bersa thunder when i go to the gym, just stick it in my jacket pocket. Its a lot easier than my glock 20 sf if im just going out for a little bit or wearing sweats.
>>
>>32175431
You can get tiny subcompact 9mm ones too.
>>
>>32175431
Generally, the reason people shy away from them is that they're hard to shoot. The small grip, typically small sights and typically heavy DAO trigger make for a bad combination of factors on the thing that you're supposedly depending your life on. The caliber is a factor too, but I think most people are aware of the fact that they suck at shooting mini pistols.

I hope that the new LCP II changes that impression for a lot of people, although DESU, even small guns with good triggers, like the P238, can be tricky for many people to shoot. I hope that the rest of the industry just steps the fuck up and innovate better triggers on their own mini .380's as a result of the competition.
>>
>>32175472
>The slim single stack 9s out today are about the same size
No, they really aren't. The Sig P938 and Kahr PM9 are the only 9mm pistols in even a comparable size class and neither pistol has a very good track record. All of the rest of the single stack 9mm's are bigger guns, definitely in a different size class.

Props to ya, but it looks a bit awkward to try and draw from that high up. Perhaps a shoulder holster for cross draw would be better? But hey, you know you better than I do; go with what works best. It just looks really uncomfortable to grab the side arm from that high up. Also, Hi Power has a thinner slide. Just Saiyan.

I'm a hungry skeleton at 5'4 and 120 lbs. Don't want to get a full sized pistols because of my small size but I hear those compact pistols are actually more difficult to shoot because they have less resistance to recoil. What should a first timer do?
>>
>>32177839
Find a range that will rent them to you or a friend that has one and try it out. I got to shoot a friend's LCP and I like it. Gonna buy a custom if I can spot a cheap one.
>>
>>32177839
Try a Makarov PM. I think that might just be a nice middle ground for you. All-steel, so still has some heft to help deal with recoil. 9x18 is also slightly weaker than 9mm so it ought to be a wee bit less 'oomph'. Also, Maks are reportedly reliable as FUCK, not to mention CLEARLY piss-easy to maintain.

Agreed, owned the Shield, both the original and current striker fired LC9S, and people who say they are the same size, are similar to 40sw owners.

I agree that 9mm is a better round, and that single stack nine's are easier to shoot than pocket .380's, but these people are blinded by some sort of diluted image of their possession. It is easier to shoot, and manipulate, because it is bigger. It can handle the hotter 9mm round, because it is bigger. When people say shit like

>single stack 9s out today are about the same size

you are just plain full of shit. You don't have a Master Jack of All Trades weapon, it's a give and take. You don't have the smallest gun, that also fires the most powerful round, that also is the easiest to shoot, that also holds as much as a full size, that also weighs the least, and is also the easiest to conceal.
>>
>>32175577
Their max loadings are within 6% of each other.

Both max out around 1350 fps 150g for 10mm and 158g for .357.

That comes out to about 800ft/lbs for 10mm and 850 ft/lbs for .357

So for factory loads a 10mm could beat out a .357 and vice versa.

It's nice being able to carry something dimensionally comparable to a pocket knife with a clip that you can wear sitting down all day, is almost impossible to print, and comes out going bang with minimal fuckery. If it wasn't for tiny plastic 380s I probably wouldn't go through the trouble of carrying, and for that I like them.

I don't know why it's considered hard to carry a subcompact 9mm. My p30sk is slightly bigger than a glock 26 and I can't even tell when I'm carrying it or not if I based my perception completely by comfort. Fuck I nap with it on sometimes.

because i'm in shape enough to not worry about the weight of a g19 and the added capacity, objectively superior caliber and easier shooting is worth it. if a compact pistol in a good holster in a good belt tires out, you are not physically fit enough to defend yourself effectively.

They're great if you live in the hot parts of the US where you might wear a jacket maybe one month out of the year.

I live in Houston and have to wear shorts and tshirts pretty much 10 months out of the year, really limits what you can carry and how.

I don't think so. It is hard to tell in pic related but it has a 15* cant forward (some call it an FBI cant) and it draws nicely. But I'm 22 years old 71" and 175. Maybe a neck beard would have draw problems kek.

I carry a S&W Bodyguard .380, with a pocket clip.

It's nice and small and I can wear it in gym shorts, or clip it into my underwear when I hop into bed.

I have a gun I can shoot you with ALL the time. You have a "real man's gun" sitting in your closet somewhere because you are a faggot who doesn't carry 24/7.

I'm not mad. I pity you, because you're going to be in the club one day and Im gonna walk up yo girl's ass and slap it, and you're gonna be a little bitch who does nothing.

I would like to point out that these are perfect for people that have jobs and want to carry a gun while at work without others knowing. (I have carried at my job for 3 years and no one is the wiser) Also I gotta wear dress pants and a tucked in shirt so yah......When I am not at work I carry my ruger lcp custom as a back up to my main Walther PPQ m2.
