I've narrowed it down to 3, all used, just assume generally decent quality.
A Mossberg 500 for $350 (pic related)
A Remington Model 870 Express Super Magnum (26" barrel)for $350
And this final one is weird; a Smith and Wesson Model 3000 12 gauge shotgun (3" apparently, 28" barrel), for $300. I cant find anything about it on google or anything, it seems obscure. Will it take 2-3/4" shells?
Looking for casual shit, just kind of blasting away with target loads.

This is the only correct choice.

Note, these are all in Canadian prices, if that makes a difference. These are all different sellers.

That's the 870?

it does

That's my 870 Super Magnum

And how is it? I see the criticism of 870s everywhere, not sure what to make of it.

It's a cheap shotgun with a bunch of aftermarket parts. If something breaks, you can easily replace it for cheap, and if it costs too much to fix, just buy another. I personally haven't had any problems with mine though. I've put 1,000+ rounds of various lengths and loads through it and never had it ftf or fte or anything since i bought it last year.
I just got a brand new Mossberg 500 in 12 with a smooth 28" barrel and a fully rifled 24" barrel for $300. Shoots wonderfully too. Barely any recoil.

H&R Pardner single in 12 gauge
You won't need more than 1 shot before a reload (other than sports). I guarantee it.
Shit, buy 2.

Just say no to Expresses. I had one with a 28" barrel. Find a used Wingmaster if you want a Remington. The actions are buttery smooth but the Express will jam at some point because of the extractors. They are worth half their asking price.
That Mossberg is ninja-tier, pass on it. The S&W is newer but I have never seen one. 12 gauges take 2 3/4" shells always, what's important is that they can handle high brass 3" shells.
Sorry I shit on your list but better now than later. Your list is "basic A, basic B, something else" but the low end of the shotgun market has plenty of solid manufacturers that don't charge double on base models for a name stamp.
OP I got a used Mossberg 500 for $80 in a pawn shop 3 weeks ago. It's in shockingly good shape for the price. Some surface rust and the bluing on the mag tube is worn down. Action is so smooth the gun will cycle simply by tilting it upwards and hitting the slide release.
By the serial number it appears to have been made in the late 70s and it's nicer than my new-production 590.
Go cruise pawn shops. Ask what they have for cheap beater shotguns, then haggle with them. That $80 gun had a $150 price tag.
Also don't be shy about store brand shotguns. These are guns made by big manufacturers (Mossman, Remshit, Ithaca etc) back in the day for department stores like Sears, Montgomery Ward and others.
They're identical, same exact parts and specs, but considerably cheaper because the stamp on the gun is a different name.
PLUS the guns are often older, made in a time when attention to detail and quality products were prioritized more than they are now.
That Mossman is tryhard, the Remshit is post Freedom Group, and I don't know anything about the S&W that Google can't tell you.
But with shotguns in particular it pays to buy used.

Smith and Wesson shotguns are rare because they're from the 70's and 80's. My grandfather was trying to sell a 3000 just this past weekend at a gunshow and it got a lot of weird looks because it had smith and wesson on it. Apparently, the 3000's were based off an improved 870 design and S&W had them produced by Howa, which is pretty neat since the only things I can think of that we can get from Japan are Howa's bolt actions.

If you want an a Remington 870, then avoid their express line. Find a used Police or Wingmaster model, or if you really want a new one you can find brand new Polices on GB for about $500

Mossberg 500 (new) or Remington 870 (used). Used Remington 870's sell like hotcakes as quality control has gone down materially.

Ithica is the best. Mossburg is a pretty cool dude tho.
