I fucking hate in this kind of anime when all the mechs just become Buttfuck incredible. They go from standard combat on the streets with guns to a single knightmare destroying 1000 VTOLs in a second, everyone flying, and swords being main weapons.

The different sides went from different tech, to basically the same.

Even the Suzaku's knightmare is outclassed at the end my some of the crazy shit.

And a lot of the choices made throughout the story were fucking retarded.

All in all, I quite enjoyed it.

I think the war and strategy aspect of it is kinda /k/.

I by no means put it up there with the likes of GSC and BL, I just want to discuss the parts that are /k/: fuckin war mechs.

It's too deus ex machina and I think the super mechs ruined any sort of tactical planning that could go into a battle, which was kinda the point.

I did like the mechs of the different nations, like the dual Euro mechs, the modular humanoid Britannian mechs, and the Chinese machine-gun mechs. All in all, I loved the design of nearly vehicle, weapon, aircraft, and Knightmare.

It has been so long since I saw it.

Season 1 was alright in terms of tech and design IIRC while season 2 went full gundam beam spam.

In my opinion the Burai and Glasgow were the best looking knghtmare frames and other models based on those two. (not the walking japanese abomination where they slap 4 Burais together to have them all cary 1 single giant gun.)

Code Geass is not /k/-approved in the slightest. The ONE battle that might qualify is the first, where Lelouch is commanding the insurgents. However, that goes down the toilet when the Lancelot makes an appearance.

That being said, it is still a (mostly) great anime--especially season one. Season two got really fucking weird and did this odd supernatural shit that didn't make sense even after I rewatched it multiple times.

At the start, the Lancelot was the first and only ...7th generation knightmare, iirc. Of course it's going to be outshone by later models in that generation. That's why they kept upgrading it. By the end, the Lancelot Albion and the upgraded Guren are the only two knightmares in the 9th generation.

So the very first mech we see is actually a 5th gen or early 6th gen, the early grunt mechs are the end of the 6th gen, and then there's a tech boom as they build better and better mechs starting with the Lancelot.
