L1A1 is semi-only, because it was used together with Sterling SMG's and has glorious imperial measurement's, so parts aren't interchangeable with other's.

They're solid but technology has moved on. You can get lighter, more accurate rifles of comparable reliability.

Strong rifle but very heavy for every day walking. Firing fast is hard, because it kicks like a mule. I've got mine for 650€ (M964 Brazilian, metric) and I love it :) Only if .308 were cheaper :D
