Taurus Raging Bull, Cobray made one of their not-SMG pistols in it (funnily enough in a single-shot variant for the CA market), AMT's automag, and the LAR Grizzly. Aftermarket barrels are available for the T/C Contender G2 and Encore pistols and rifles, as well as the now-discontinued H&R Handi-Rifle in it but was never offered as a complete firearm from the factory.

even in dirty Harry movies it should be obvious that .44mag is too much gun to be practical or even controllable

2. there are two other .50AE pistols, the AMT AutoMag V and LAR Grizzly MkV. Niether is still in production. There have been a number of five shot single action revolvers made in .50 AE by Magnum Research and Freedom Arms. Bowen Custom Arms will convert a Ruger Redhawk to .50AE. Bothe Tromix and Alexander Arms made AR15s in .50AE. Tromix stopped all together in the mid '00s and AA switched to .50 Beowulf.

Tend to agree. .44 recoils about like a 1911 in .45ACP with hot 1400 fps .44 Magnum loads. Still ended up with a .50AE barrel out of curiosity, though.
