Does any one know what this old rifle is? Just found it in my grandpas closet after he passed away a few months back and am very curious about the it. Any help would be highly appreciated

One of the most mass produced rifles of all time. Not really worth much. I'd recommend pawning it or trading it for a glock on armslist
Finnish capture M1891 made at Izhevsk in 1902.

This guy is correct.
Don't sell or pawn the rifle OP. It's kind of a meme here, but it's still a good gun.
The mosin has seen action in conflicts worldwide for the last 100 years. Still used commonly today

>not seeing through obvious troll shitpost
>being on /k/ for more than 5 minutes
>not knowing what a mosin is
Jesus I left /k/ for awhile and this place went to shit fast. Who are these shit new trips as well

>three D166 "D" markings on the chamber
God, why do Finns love the "D" so much?

If it weren't for all the rust in that picture, I might say you are correct. But that surface rust does indicate it's been sitting around somewhere for quite a while, likely in the back of grandpa's closet.

They're probably from one of the cancerous generals.

Nice rifle with a lot of history there OP. I'd definitely give it a good cleaning and hang on to it. While definitely a mass produced rifle, you don't see those markings all too often.
Post the bore.

Like the other anons said it's a Finn capture Mosin Nagant M1891. While they were mass produced rifles they aren't as common as the 91/30 in some places. I would definitely hang on to, not only because of the history but because it belonged to your grandfather, even though it's probably your gun and this is a troll post.
