I made my own and wore it for ages, still have it, and want to like it but it definitely portrays that "I unironically have punisher logos on my car" vibe.

Maybe it's just the pretty colors ones that are the worst; to be honest I don't think I really mind/notice simple black/OD ones as much, but I think I'd still keep it relegated to an innawoods-only status

and even then a better way of storing paracord would be to wrap it around equipment like say a gun stock or tent pole or something, carrying it around like a fashion accessory is cringe

If you actually want 550 for survival stuff, a length of it in quick pull knots or even just rolled in a ziplock in a pack is way more viable.

I had one from Ramstein in 03 that they were making as a therapy type deal for the wounded. Kinda like the left in pic related, clasped with a BDU button, no inner strand and it was nice and thin.

Then the commercial shit caught on and completely ruined it for me.

I mean, it makes sense. In a wilderness setting, being prepared is socially accepted. Being in an urban setting, people think you're weird. But I live in the bay area on the west coast. We are long due for some holy-shit-level earthquake, so it's a very good counter for people who think it's dumb. Those peopel are usually also the first to panic when the quake hits because they think everything will be 100% ok because the government will just magically make everything right in time for their weekly podcast updates.

I wouldn't wear one on my wrist, but I do use one as a keychain for my keys
