Hello /k/

I am interested in buying a 91/30 for my collection...any good sites that dont rape you? Everything i see is $219 and up....
>>
>>32146496
Congrats, you want to be a collector in 2016? $200+ is what you're going to pay for the rifle.
>>
>>32146496

You could get lucky with Gunbroker I guess. Buying online is going to fuck you over majorly anyway:

>can't hand inspect the rifle
>have to pay for shipping
>have to pay fee to whatever FFL holder you sent it to

My personal opinion is that you should never buy online unless it's an absurdly good deal or you have absolutely no other options like gun shows.
>>
either
>have a really really nice friend
or
>get super lucky on a no reserve gunbroker listing
pretty much your only options
>>
>>32146496
TMC is the only place I would buy from, expect to pay more though.
>>
>>32146817
Why do reserve price gunbroker listings exist anyways. Just set a flat price you cunts.
>>
armslist, cabelas has em for 250 right now
>>
>>32146801

Non-serialized parts and FFL shit is always good to get online. A lot of times you can find a better deal online for new shit than you would be able to find at your local gun shop. If you see something online that you like, call around and ask if some LGS has it and how much they want. Half the time I find a better deal online, WITH shipping and FFL fees. Shit, sometimes the shipping is free.

Because that's what they go for now. 4 years ago they could be had for $120-150 fairly regularly. 4 years before that they were under $100.

The fact of the matter is that cheap Russian surplus hasn't been a real thing for quite some time now. Mosins are cool rifles but they aren't cheaper than dirt anymore and personally I don't think they're worth more than 150 unless it's just for collecting.

Plus nugget food is only getting more expensive.
>>
>>32146496
I'd say hold out and see if that fascist orange dipshit lifts the russian import ban first.

Cheap nagants and AKs for all if that happens.

going to one of these auctions is your best shot at getting one for under $200. wholesale prices.

this one is online so you can get an idea how the bidding goes, or if it's cheap you might just want to go through the absentee bidding and shipping.

>>32147124
they put a reserve because they want all the monies, and no one would even look if they were honest about their bottom dollar.
>>
>>32146496
pretty much any gun store, try gander mountain or any other chain store that buys guns. they will have dozens of these and no customer body. Haggle with them, they bought the thing for 50 dollars.
>>

>where to buy
Canada.
>>
>>32150123
what are they running in loonies these days?
>>
>mfw selling chink-o piece of shit Type 53 for $300 that I bought for $99

feels good desu
>>
>>32150296
Because of import bans.

Lower supply demand is still there.

Canada still gets imports of slav shit in high numbers. Leafs actually over pay a good bit from thier real value in slav land, but it's still cheap. So slav exporters send it over, and make leafy sheckles.
>>
>>32150296

Numbers matching round receiver with good wood and metal, tool kit/cleaning shit, oil bottle and bayonet are going for $180-$220 which is about $134-164 USD. Snipers, ex-snipers and hex receivers are where prices get stupid even for us.

Hell, even our SKS's are getting into the $220-$275 range for hardwood and laminate stock Russians. ($164-$205 USD)
>>
>>32147375
Yea I've only seen ammo for it for a box of 20 for like 18 to 20$
>>
>>32152010

$350 Beaverbucks for 880 rounds of Norinco 1970's production up here in Canuckistan.

Feels GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

Bought my first Mosin a few months back. 1938 TULA. Not all matching, but bolt and reciever did. Stock looked like it hand been dragged to Berlin and back. Despite the battle-worn condition, barrel was bright and it shoots fairly well.

I'm kind of excited that only Canada can import them now, and I hope the aftermarket for Mosins takes off here like it did in USA 4 or 5 years ago
>>

>Import banned
Morons. Fucking retarded morons.
>>
>after market
>mosin
There really is nowhere to take a 100+ year old rifle without spending more money than its worth.
>>
>>32146496
Just wait idiot. They're not worth more than $100.
>>
>>32146801
>paying FFL fee for a Mosin

Look at this tiny baby who doesn't have a C&R license
>>
>>32153238
Wait for what?
>>
>>32153238

"Just wait"

This isnt 2006 anymore. Mosins are never going to be $100 rifles ever again. They are only going to increase in value. Yeah we get it they arnt anything special and are mass produced but thats simply reality.

Probably better off saving and getting a better rifle than spending 200 on a fucking mosin though, that i could agree on.
>>
>>32146496
>219
>is 300+ I guess haha :^)
Kys OP
>>
>>32154510

Not that guy, but NJ buttfucks me and says C&R isn't valid in NJ. They refuse to recognize the entire concept of C&R and demand everyone pay the FFL fees.
>>
>>32147235
>cabelas has em for 250 right now
is this legit? any idea on the condition they're in?
>>
saw a few nuggets at the gunshow i just went to. they were askign $350 for them.

aimsurplus has soem hex rifles that have been rearsenaled post war for $270.
>>
>>32156618
Check the site dude, free ship to store. Though what it comes with is random

it might have the bayonet, or might have everything, it may just be the gun. Also google is your friend. Google "buy mosins online"

I don't want to link what side because I'm thinking of getting one, but one site has one with a small crack in it for 219, comes with the extras.

Also OP you can try and haggle you know. If they want like 250 but it doesnt have anything extra explain that you gotta go get them so say 200 is better, or even 150 etc
>>
>>32153235
>$200 nugget
>$150 stock
>$100 trigger
>$300 bull barrel
That's $750 for a rifle that'll shoot sub-MOA at 800 yards from a ten round detachable box magazine. What else comes close? I guess you could get a Romak for that much, but you'll still have the original military trigger and worn barrel.
>>
I have a Mosin question
Are American Nuggets neat?
I've seen a Westinghouse Nugget at a gunshow a couple months ago for about $500
>>
>>32156801
What is K31 Or Swedish Mauser
could get either around 400$ and they shoot sub-moa stock
>>
>>32156801
Or you can spend 500 on an American made modern hunting rifle that's superior in every conceivable way

>no mention in that budget for decent glass
>with scope, you're now approaching $1k for a gun that's outperformed by a Savage Axis out of the box.
>cheap surplus x54r is a thing of the past

Mosins are cool collector's items and a neat piece of history as the gun that beat the Nazis but pretending they're anything other than that in 2016 is wishful thinking at best
