>Every hand gun in California on the Roster is going to expire by 2018.
>No new guns have been added.

Has California managed to legally ban hand guns for the average citizen? Even if a few companies renew their guns, the remaining companies are going to be a a questionable monopoly because nobody else will be able to compete with them.
>>
>>32142890
>legally

The Constitution says otherwise.
>>
California is lost. Anyone with any sense left a long time ago.
>>
>>32142890
isn't this exactly what heller was about?
>>
>>32142924
Yep. OP is full of shit.
>>
>>32142924
Not exactly. California is making it near impossible for companies to legally sell in the state. Of course, if no companies sell, then no guns can be bought.

>>32142935
Check the source, faggot.
>>
Nearly every revolver is also going to be banned in like a month too.
>>
Trump and the republican Supreme Court won't stand for that shit
>>
>>32142945
Why?

And this does seem similar to Heller except that its a de facto ban rather than explicit. If the supreme Court continues to believe that the second amendment is an individual right this should be struck down.
>>
Cali would be UK-tier if it banned handguns

It is pretty much. I think they can have break action shotguns after multiple background checks, interviews with intelligence officials and a 5 year wait from purchase.
>>
>>32142982
Because the expiration date is next month.
>>

>>
>>32142890

>>
>>32142924
>He thinks CA gives a single shit about the constitution

You know there's no right to carry here right? A large portion of the state is no-issue.

Also it's not technically a "ban," they've just set the requirements for selling pistols such that no guns meet them. There's no confiscation involved, and legally speaking it's technically possible to import and sell handguns.
>>
>>32142890

Good, the pussy gun owners who live there should get the message

Move or mobilize

>>
>>32142890
That's just the way the roster works. Manufacturers have to pay to renew annually and most haven't gotten around to it by now. We'll probably lose around 50-100 models this year but the most popular shit will still be around.

We had a lawsuit challenging the roster that got dismissed. The liberal activist judge's opinion was that as long as one handgun could be sold, there was no infringement. Honestly wish the companies would band together and let their products expire.
>>
Dude.
I'm Canadian and this is bullshit.

I can't carry, which is bullshit, but at least I can buy any gun I want and fire it on my own property.

Cali is going full Australia or something. Soon it will be break and lever action shotguns only.
Republican Californians should move up here and guarantee us a Conservative win next election. The Conservatives are promising to add 2A rights to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

>>
>>32143703
Fuck that. So far, only democrats attracted by lower real estate prices move.

California is toxic, people tilt left the more the longer they stay there.
>>
>>32145306
The second amendment has been applied to the states via McDonald. Banning AR15s and handguns should very easily be unconstitutional under the "common use" stipulation set in McDonald, it's just that no case has gotten before the SC that would challenge it.
>>
>>32145251

CA can't even enforce the laws in its own borders. Every time I go to the range, I see more people with "eh fuck it" builds than legal builds. LEO have made it clear that they don't care about AWs or even SBRs or suppressors so long as A) it's not full auto, and B) you're not committing an actual big people crime with it.
>>
>>32145300

I've been wondering if LEO have moved to "don't give a shit" on account of the rapidly moving target that is CA gun laws. If it's onerous to keep up with as a firearm user, it's got to be a pain for LEOs too.
>>
>>32144635

Australian here.
Lever action shotguns aren't gone. They're just banning the import of the 7 round tube version of the Adler and leaving us the 5 round version. Makes 0 sense but that's cucked governments for you.
There's still talk in government about repealing the ban, but I doubt it'll happen
>>
>>32145590

You're setting the bar pretty high for supporting the notion of LEO *technically* not performing their official duties. What I mean is that you're not going to find unofficial

My stance comes from three sources, in descending order of personal importance:

1) A Sheriff telling me that he didn't care about anything so long as it wasn't FA.

2) The fact that I never see reports of or hear of anyone being charged with JUST the AW charge... it's always used as a tack-on charge to keep the shitters where they belong. I have actively looked for reports of people being charged with just AW violations, but it's also been awhile.

3) Friends and associates that have had similar conversations with LEO; it's not uncommon for Sheriffs to come out to an unofficial shooting spot to make sure it's not gangs. If not gang-y, chitchat, joke, and bullshit time.

Limitations: Yeah, it's all still anecdotal. Also, I live in Chico, so pretty far to the north. I imagine it's different in the deep south. I haven't talked to city police about their stances, although one retired one told me to take my bullet button off, for whatever that's worth. Finally, being non-compliant may be fine 99% of the time, but what about the 1% of the time where you rub the officer the wrong way or they're in a bad mood? Theoretically they don't give a fuck, but theoretically they could fuck your life up. I prefer to avoid the whole thing and just take my stuff to places where LEO don't show up for spot checks.
>>
>>32145707
>What I mean is that you're not going to find unofficial

I derped.

What I mean is that you're not going to find unofficial policy posted on their websites.
>>
>>32145596
Californian Expat, but yeah.

I'm about 90% sure the leo's stopped giving a shit on the majority of the superfluous stuff because it pretty much changes on a monthly basis. It doesn't help that no one actually gets a brief from CalDOJ on the specifics of the laws so it comes down to interpretation and discretion, and they're a littler scared.

No one wants to be "that guy" who arrests someone based off a wrong interpretation of the law, especially over trivial bullshit like mag caps or a bullet button, and then get's the department's ass reamed in court. At times it seems like the NRA and GOA have more or less abandoned california to the wolves, but they will on occasion go to bat for a gun owner who've been unlawfully arrested and had property siezed. I forget the case but IIRC it was guy who was in the process of moving and got more or less reamed by the state police in the north east, and the NRA brought in their lawyers for the case.

>>32145707

Except whenever there is an update to the gun CA considers it a new model \, and it needs to be resubmitted. Last I know CA is still selling 3rd gen Glocks because they won't approve the 4th gen. This applies even for shit like different colors. And most gun companies are not going to continue to produce an old model alongside the updated stuff.
>>
>>32142924

It was addressed in Heller v DC. Leftist states can play the "regulate out of existence" game all day long, but Scalia's opinion made it so their success is defacto unconstitutional. I see it as a good thing that California is going off the rails and victimizing gun owners; someone has to bear that cross. Without these unhinged lunatics going way over the line, we'd stop getting good case law.

Remember that pre-Heller the anti argument was that there was no individual right to bear arms; it was a popular belief that all arms could be banned, 2A was treated much like 10A is now. The best example I can think of that mirrors this is the "driving is a privilege" crowd. SCOTUS has already ruled that travel is a right and that popular means of utilizing a right cannot be banned, so clearly you have a right to use the highway to travel via automobile. However, the government does have a clear interest in public safety, and they're more than reasonable about licensing/enforcement. So we never get that case law, and dipshits can keep going around declaring that driving is a privilege.

> 3. The handgun ban and the trigger-lock requirement (as applied to self-defense) violate the Second Amendment . The District’s total ban on handgun possession in the home amounts to a prohibition on an entire class of “arms” that Americans overwhelmingly choose for the lawful purpose of self-defense. Under any of the standards of scrutiny the Court has applied to enumerated constitutional rights, this prohibition—in the place where the importance of the lawful defense of self, family, and property is most acute—would fail constitutional muster. Similarly, the requirement that any lawful firearm in the home be disassembled or bound by a trigger lock makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense and is hence unconstitutional.

The new Commiefornia laws are so fucked. Just remember that the shitlibs use CA. and NY. and testing grounds for new gun laws. Unless you resist the commies, these laws will spread to your state.

>Be kommiefornian
>want Taurus Raging Bull in .44 with 8.375 in barrel
>pay online and wait
>gun arrives and get a call from the store
>"btw the same gun with the 8.375 in barrel is not on the roster but the 6 inch one is and we are out of stock on that one"

The raging bull line is decent, just a bit overpriced. For the same money you could likely find a used S&W 29.

Yea they're like buying a Toyota, but I instead got hooked up with a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 and .45 LC, it was used but previous owner was FBI so it was in great condition
>>
>>32158458
Nope I'm guessing the mistake was on their part. I got a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 and .45 LC and 100 rounds of .45 LC

When are Leftists going to say the founding fathers intended "arms" as our fucking limbs, and they meant we could expose our arms and shoulders freely

It's getting to that point

Oregon is worse off than Washington. They have a democrat dominated legislature. Here in Washington Republicans control the Senate so gun control won't pass.

i'm hoping this does happen so california can get legally raped by the supreme court bringing up DC vs Heller again.
>>
>>32143573
if there are no handguns that meet their criteria then it's a defacto ban and could be easily argued in court as such.
>>
>>32153508
Nah

Theres a TON of red-tape that you have to go through in getting weapons permissions for a set. Even in a MURRICAN state like FL.
The insurance and union jews make it their lifes goals to slow you down to make cool movies.
