Can you cock munchers recommend a realistic /k/ film?
>>32142418
http://amagicalplace.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_/k/_approved_movies
>>32142454
Would it be in bad form to edit the list myself without discussion? Lupin III should be on there imo
>>32142418
You are now aware vets are just typical guys. We like movies like Tropic Thunder and Chris Nolan's Batman.
I'm not even trying to sound like a try hard. We watch movies to escape from reality for a second like everyone else. Asking for /k/ related films will only get replies from kids who think they grasp some concept of warfare.
That said, playing the game your way... I might watch Hacksaw Ridge when it's finally on DVD.
>>32142508
Tropic Thunder is actually really good. I didn't fully grasp that they wern't actually makng fun of veitname
>>32142508
>found the guy who just ETS'd
You can still watch movies and appreciate them for their authenticity without going full war hero, a la Heat, Way Of The Gun, Ronin, Unforgiven, etc.
>>32142418
How about Centurion?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3dOVUO2esA
>>32142480
I think it's a dead community, go for it.
I'm gonna suggest Jack Reacher and John Wick, I know there's a lot of gun-fu but it's all reasonably accurate. The newest one in theaters was bretty gud.
>>32142582
Thing is it pisses you off when you've done it. Not saying we're special. I can only imagine a lawyer sperging if they watched a crime scene show.
My favorites:
>Anything Clint Eastwood
>FMJ (it's dated, but still somewhat relevant, was marinefag)
>Enemy at the Gates (FU I like it)
>Heartbreak Ridge for lulz
>Jarhead
>About a million others
I've been into watching documentaries lately. Real life more interesting.
>>32142605
Try again Army nigger. Was a Marine. 0311if it tickles your balls. I EASd not ETS, and that was 5 years ago. Any other projections?
>this entire post
>"any other projections?"

Wah. Retarded Army bitch got called out.
Cry more.
>>32142698
>Pic very related.
>>32142700
Nice meme. Wasn't the original guy calling you out but I was Army and worked extensively with Marines in Helmand and RC-West. Good dudes.
>>32142732
I was in Helmand. What year?
I actually like my Army Bros. Won't take shit memes from retards is all.
>>32142746
13-14. Spent plenty of time waiting for triggers, staged in Bastion and Dwyer.
>>32142750
I was there in 2010-11. They liked to fight. Found a lot of IEDs.
>>32142763
Word, our BFT never dropped the old IED icons, so it just look like all the roads were solid red lines. There was some magic line drawn in the sand that whenever we flew over it everyone would come out of their huts and shoot, every single time.
If you like some dramalam here's a short list of some I don't see discussed here to often.
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Babel (not super /k/ but a Winchester Model 70 serves as a major plot device)
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
Lincoln (just the opener has a battle, but still a good watch)
Gods and Generals
Triple 9 (a little over the top, but worth a watch)
Proof Of Life (pic related)
Spartan
Appaloosa
>>32142770
Yeah we found a fuckload of explosive caches. I want to say over 60 in our platoon alone. Raked a lot of sand.
I swear my squad leader could fucking smell them. He found half of them.
>>32142783
>The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
How was that one? I use to not like westerns that much till a few years ago.
I'm surprised no one ever recommends
Ichi the Killer
in these movie threads
>>32142810
It was good, pretty accurate, not super western-y but still a pretty movie.
Here's a taste.
https://youtu.be/CzinPgsxokE
>>32142810
>Ichi the Killer
not enough rooty tooty shooty to balance the old ultra violence
The man from nowhere
No tears for the dead
Black rain (the american one)
>>32142783
>gods and generals
>not gettysburg
You had one job
>>32143101
>don't see discussed here to often.
bruh
>>32142783
Gods and Generals is the most embarassingly terrible civil war movie ever. Why would you recommend Gods and Generals when Gettysburg is RIGHT THERE
WHY
>>32142651
Not army or the guy you we're talking to. Just shitting on you because you're a sensitive pussy.
Semper fi
>>32143173
The TNT rough riders movie is better and it is nauseatingly historically inaccurate.
>>32142651
Army Dog? Shit mang. That's too hardcore. Even hardened vets puked while watching it. Veterans too.
>>32142605
Ronin is great, one of my favorite De Niro movies along with Heat. Never see it mentioned here.
>>32142418
> realistic
Soon schindlers list theh
This movie is pretty damn /k/ and mostly realistic, except maybe when the bombardier gets shot with a nugget
>>32142448
Still havent found a reliable torrent.... Hell, even a place to get a DVD copy from....
>tfw even walmart.com doesn't know what the fuck I'm talkin about.
>>32143292
Fuckin superchinks
>>32143271
Every now and again someone will mention it, it is also one of my favs.
buuuuttt nooooo
>muh Heat
>>32143292
To be correct here that's how the book tells it.
>>32143314
nah, just a peasant firing a rifle randomly in the night.
>>32143325
Great flick, jean reno is cool too.
>what color is the boathouse at hereford
>desert eagle, modified to be as accurate as a 9mm
>>32143333
Checked. Quads speak the truth.
>every peasant with a rifle
Cole, Virgil Cole is my operator spirit animal.
>>32143333
chiggity checked m8. don't they lose like 3 or 4 A-6s to a ZSU 23-4 at the end?
>>32143304
Private tracker has it in 1080p
>>32142664
Roadside Picnic is the book. Stalker(?) is the film.
>>32143455
holy shit, as a thumbnail I thought that was a picture
When it comes to realism and accuracy, I think Das Boot is at the top.
Every small detail was taken into consideration.
For example, the engines used in the film are actual ww2 U-boat diesel engines. And you see Johann in the pic with a solid piece of steel, he's listing to the tappets and bearings.
They don't explain his, or any other crew member's actions. They just do them, and they do them right.
The uncut version is almost 5 hours long. The director's cut is 3.5 hours.
>>32143455
>Stalker
Worth watching?
>>32142454
No Jesse Stone series?
>>32143609
Just read the book or play the game
>>32143304
It's on Youtube
>>32143609
No. Watch Come and See or Underground (1995) instead.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091251/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114787/
Not only are they /k/, they are legitimately good movies that can be enjoyed by non-/k/ people.
>>32142783
Triple 9 was fucking trash
>>32142448
I'd like to watch this.
>>32142480
I take /k/ approved to just mean the gunplay isn't so retarded as to remove you from the illusion or even better that there is some interesting choreography and gunplay.
You sound like a larping fag.
>>32142480
Sorry, meant for >>32142508
>>32142628
It was a parody of war films, not war you Fuggin retard
>>32142418
Threat Level Midnight
>>32144932
Really? A Ben Stiller movie was a comedy only?
Thanks for shedding some light on that. I had no idea.
